Make Rest a Top Priority During Your Personal 12th House Season

I eat, sleep & breathe Astrology– heed my warning when I say make rest and restoration a top-priority during your 12th House Season. In your natal chart, the 12th House is a place of death & rebirth, of self-undoing. It is the pause or withdrawal from everyday life. This is why rest becomes so important as the Sun, the representation of life force moves through the vast ocean of the 12th House.
In order to have a thriving First House Season, you must kick-back but do the inner-work of your 12th House Season. It is a quiet and reflective time. To look back release and look forward. Be extra gentle and kind to yourself during your 12th House Season and lighten your schedule if you can. Pushing through the 12th House Season can lead to burn-out and a not so thriving 1st House Season, as you’ll have to catch-up on the rest you didn’t get.
How to find your 12th House Season:
It’s very simple, first you find the start of your 12th House, take note of the sign and degree (if it’s in between one sign.) If your 12th House starts at the beginning of a sign, that zodiacal season is your 12th House Season from the start. If it falls under one of the other number degrees of a sign, take note of which degree and count how many days into that zodiacal season. For example, if your 12th House begins at 10° of Cancer, then 10 days into Cancer Season (which typically starts June 21st– but can vary by a date or two year to year) starts your 12th House Season around July 1.

In this chart the native’s 12th House Season starts 13 days into Libra Season (around Oct. 5)
It’s the same method for calculating when your 12th House Season ends and your 1st House Season (The Sun the House of your Rising Sign) begins. The Sun always moves forward at a steady pace, so it will happen around the same time (same zodiacal season) every year.
The duration of a “season” can vary depending on the house system, but it’s typically 30 days. The zodiacal season itself will always be 30 days, but in some house systems a “personal house” season can last 20–40 days. I use Placidus, so sometimes houses are 20° and other times they are 40°. Signs can be “swallowed” by a House and this typically prolongs that House’s season.
Remember: Rest. Restore. Self-Care. Reflection. Shadow Work & Easy Movement during your 12th House Season! I’m currently at the tail end of mine! Just days away from my 1st House Season. It’s hard-out here with a Gemini -occupied 12th House! I nearly lose my mind every damn time. The task and chores of life feel overwhelming. I can’t make everybody happy, so I have to forgive myself. Focus on my own rest and relaxation. I think I have finally learned that lesson, but that remains to be seen.
Until next time!
With Love & Light,
