Fields of Change — Upcoming July Events

This July, *Fields of Change* invites our global community into a series of gatherings exploring how trust, resilience and collective renewal can take root in times of uncertainty. Beginning with an inquiry into the “social soil” of communities and organisations, we will reflect on the hidden conditions that allow groups to remain responsive, connected and alive under pressure, alongside a dedicated reflective session for shared learning and dialogue.

Later in the month, the focus expands to the Caux IDG Forum 2026: The Alchemy of Forgiveness, co-hosted by Alef Trust in partnership with the Caux Initiatives of Change Foundation and the Inner Development Goals Foundation. Set in the inspiring surroundings of Caux Palace above Montreux, the five-day gathering will explore forgiveness, reconciliation, belonging and inner development as vital resources for personal healing, collective transformation and regenerative futures. Together, these events offer space to pause, connect and consider how more compassionate, accountable and life-affirming ways of working together may emerge.

**What Happens When the Social Soil of a Community Becomes Depleted?**

**July 6 @ 3:00 pm — 4:15 pm BST**

Under increasing pressure, many human systems begin to lose resilience. Trust erodes. Creativity narrows. Difference becomes harder to hold. Groups fragment, harden, or exhaust themselves. What once felt alive can gradually become reactive, brittle, or disconnected.

And yet in nature disturbance does not necessarily lead to collapse. Forests reorganise after fire. Mycelial networks redistribute nutrients through damaged terrain. Living systems survive through diversity, exchange, responsiveness, and continual adaptation to changing conditions.

What might human communities learn from this?

Following our June exploration of social fields and collective organising, this session turns toward the conditions that help communities remain alive under pressure. Together, we will explore what restores vitality to depleted social fields, what helps groups metabolise tension rather than fracture, and what capacities may be needed for regeneration in a time of uncertainty and accelerating change.

Working with ecological imagination, we will ask:

  • What depletes the social soil of communities and organisations?
  • What helps trust and responsiveness regenerate after strain or rupture?
  • What allows human systems to remain adaptive rather than rigid under pressure?
  • What kinds of practices, relationships, and cultures support renewal?

This session also opens a bridge toward the upcoming **Caux Forum 2026* on The Alchemy of Forgiveness*, where questions of rupture, repair, and renewal will move further into focus.

**Reflective Session — What Happens When the Social Soil of a Community Becomes Depleted?**

**July 6 @ 4:30 pm — 5:30 pm BST**

Following the main session, we’ll deepen into today’s theme. This is a space for sharing personal experiences and practices, listening to each other’s stories, and exploring how the ideas land in our own lives, both in smaller breakout rooms and in the larger group. Our monthly reflective sessions are a chance to connect more closely as a community — getting to know one another, learning from each other, and weaving the threads of our shared journey.

**Caux IDG Forum 2026 — The Alchemy of Forgiveness**

**July 13 @ 2:00 pm — July 17 @ 2:00 pm BST**

We are delighted to share that **Alef Trust has entered a new partnership with the [Caux Initiatives of Change Foundation](https://www.iofc.ch/caux-idg-2026) and the [Inner Development Goals](https://innerdevelopmentgoals.org/) Foundation to co-host “The Alchemy of Forgiveness” — a five-day gathering at the historic [Caux Palace](https://www.cauxpalace.ch/)** above Montreux, Switzerland, from 13 to 17 July 2026. This gathering will explore forgiveness, reconciliation and belonging — themes that speak directly to the needs of our time.

The 2026 Forum explores the theme “The Alchemy of Forgiveness”, inviting participants to reflect on forgiveness as both a personal practice and a collective force for healing, regeneration and belonging. Participants will explore how inner transformation shapes outward resonances, and how the process of forgiveness can strengthen relationships, restore dignity and foster cooperation across divides.

Your registration also includes membership of ***Nurturing the Fields of Change***, this community of practice for holistic change and social transformation. The community is open to all and hosted by Alef Trust. Participants at “The Alchemy of Forgiveness” will receive a couplon code for free membership throughout 2026. We hope to support your ongoing participation in a community space, which extends explorations of resonant topics and practices before and after the gathering at Caux Palace. We look forward to deepening conversations and inquiries with you.
