Cloudy But Don’t Forget The Suncream
June Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Black & White — Freestyle”
Red hot day. Strangely brooding sky.
Cloud cover in hot weather can be deceiving. It can almost feel cool, but the sun is up there, bathing us in both its life-giving and its life-limiting rays just the same. Clouds don’t stop UV radiation from reaching and damaging our skin, particularly in the summer months.
It’s the Earth’s tilt that gives us our seasons, and in summer, it tilts slightly towards the sun giving us warmer weather and more direct sunlight.
It’s always worth remembering that the sun can do as much damage in summer on a cloudy day as on a sunny one if you go out without protection.
