Good day, everyone! Hope y’all are doing good... because I’m not. Yup, I’m sick and I’ve basically been in bed all day. I decided to write since, well... I’m jobless and got tired of playing games. ...Oh wait. I still have translations to do. So I’m probably going to have to rush this a little. Anyways, today I’ll be talking about what made me watch The Apothecary Diaries, why I love it, and why it’s now my favourite slow-burn anime. (Laughs maniacally.)

What made me watch this anime

I started watching it because of the hype. Around mid last year, it kept showing up on my tiktok Fyp, and honestly... it looked pretty interesting. So I gave it a try. From the very first episode, I was hooked. I don’t know why, but I get this weird joy from watching really smart people slowly fall in love without even realizing it. Bruh... How badly I wanted them to kiss at least once. Guess I’ll have to wait for Season 3. I also heard a movie is coming out. In fact, today I saw an edit—I think it was from a trailer. I’m not really updated on The Apothecary Diaries news, but whatever it was... Season 3 looks like it’s coming in hot.

Why I like it

Like I said earlier, I love that it’s a slow-burn romance. Jinshi deserves Maomao and Maomao?

She deserves the whole world bro especially after everything she’s done for Jinshi and everyone in the palace. …sigh

how I love smart people There’s something satisfying about watching people figure things out so quickly that you need a few extra seconds just to catch up. It keeps you thinking. I also loved all the bonding moments between Maomao and Jinshi. Whether it was when she saved Jinshi after he almost got killed... Or when they were trapped underground together... Hehe. Those little moments are what made their relationship so interesting to watch.

Why it’s my favourite slow burn

The biggest reason is simply because... It was different. It’s not the kind of anime I usually watch, and that made it feel really refreshing. Sometimes trying something different ends up becoming one of your favourites. I also think it’s my favourite slow-burn anime because... Well... It’s currently the only proper slow-burn anime I’m watching/have watched.

I heard the anime is based off a light novel, which is honestly pretty cool. I haven’t read it myself though. I also haven’t really bothered. Lol. Should you watch it? Absolutely. I’d recommend it to any anime fan. It’s different from the usual action-packed anime most people are used to watching. It’s exciting, funny, mysterious, and it actually encourages you to think. I’m sure there are other anime like this out there too. So... If you’ve watched something similar, please recommend it. I already have a really long anime watchlist... But what’s the harm in making it even longer?
