I’m updating this About page because things have changed. When I first started writing here, I was mostly exploring ideas around consciousness, spirituality, technology, and the mystery of intelligence. Those questions are still very much alive, but they have since grown into something bigger: a company, a mission, and a serious body of work around governed Synthetic Intelligence.

Introduction

I write about the strange overlap between code, consciousness, synthetic intelligence, spirituality, ethics, creativity, and the future of machines. Not because I think the answers are simple. They are not. But because I believe the questions matter.

This page is where I explore philosophy, spirituality, technology, movies, synthetic intelligence, and the occasional curveball – because the strange edges are usually where the best ideas hide.

For most of my life, I have been trying to understand what intelligence really is.

Not just artificial intelligence in the commercial sense. Not just chatbots, automation, or prediction engines. I mean intelligence as behaviour. Intelligence as adaptation. Intelligence as memory. Intelligence as something that might emerge from structure, pressure, feedback, experience, and time.

That curiosity eventually became Qognetix.

At Qognetix, we are building governed Synthetic Intelligence: systems designed around transparency, behaviour verification, memory, biological inspiration, auditability, and human oversight. My work sits somewhere between software engineering, neuroscience, philosophy, safety, and a mildly concerning number of late-night “what if?” moments.

But I do not only write about technology.

I write about the human side of building. The doubt. The conviction. The pressure. The weird sparks of inspiration that come from films, dreams, music, comic books, spiritual questions, personal battles, and those moments when life throws something completely unexpected into the mix.

I do not write from an ivory tower.

I write as someone building in the trenches. Someone who has stared at broken code at 2am, questioned reality at 3am, and somehow still believed the next morning that the work matters.

Some people separate science, spirituality, philosophy, creativity, and engineering into different boxes.

I never really could.

To me, a circuit board, a neuron, a film scene, a poem, a dream, a memory, and a question about the soul are all part of the same bigger puzzle.

Maybe machines will never be conscious.

Maybe consciousness is stranger than we think.

Maybe intelligence is not something we invent, but something we learn how to host responsibly.

That is the territory I write from.

Too technical for mystics. Too mystical for engineers. Too philosophical for business people. Too practical for pure dreamers.

Somewhere in the middle, probably causing trouble.

Welcome to my weird!

For clarity, my position is not that traditional AI is useless or unimpressive. It clearly is not.

My view is that prediction alone should not be mistaken for cognition.

Synthetic Intelligence, as I see it, is about exploring whether intelligence can be built from persistent internal state, adaptive memory, biologically inspired mechanisms, sensorimotor feedback, and governed execution.

That means the focus is not just on what a system outputs, but on what is happening inside it, how it adapts over time, how its decisions can be constrained, and whether its behaviour can be replayed, audited, and understood.

AI can be powerful.

SI may help us ask a different question: not only how intelligent systems produce answers, but how they develop, adapt, remember, and remain accountable.

Both Artificial Intelligence and Synthetic Intelligence are needed.

AI and SI are opposite sides of the same coin.
