Ngatia: Sunday’s Pipeline Rally Was Not Planned

Nairobi, Tuesday 5th April, 2022: Leading Nairobi Gubernatorial aspirant Richard Ngatia today said that the demands by pipeline residents to be addressed by him were spontaneous and caught him by surprise since it was not a political rally and he had not planned to speak.

Speaking during a morning breakfast radio show on the popular vernacular station Gukena FM, Ngatia said that it was unplanned for him to address the crowd that had gathered in Pipeline estate to listen to President Uhuru Kenyatta who had attended a church service at the AIC Pipeline church.

“When the President speaks nobody else does but on Sunday we saw people who felt that they wanted me to address them. I humbly accepted and waved at them atop the car. I am very humbled by the love and appreciation that Nairobi people have been showing me wherever I go. It is very inspiring to me,” Ngatia said.

After the church service, President Uhuru Kenyatta and his entourage were met by crowds who waited to greet the head of state. After the president had spoken, the crowd shouted “Tunataka kuona Ngatia” (We want to see Richard Ngatia) prompting the President to offer the The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) president an opportunity to utter his greetings to the crowd. Ngatia is a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta and has been spearheading the Azimio La Umoja campaigns in Nairobi.
