Cuba’s Next Chapter Could Change Everything

Behind the shortages and blackouts, Cuba is quietly preparing for bigger challenges

In Cuba these days, the atmosphere is continuously becoming more and more tense. According to reports, Havana is worried that the danger of a clash with America may increase.

For this same reason, the Cuban government has sped up civil defense preparations all over the country. Some reports claim that local people are being given weapons, and citizens are being told to stay ready for a possible emergency situation.

The government is also sending this message that if any threat arises to the country’s security, then the public may also have to become part of the national defense efforts.

However, the United States has not announced any direct military action, but Cuba believes that unclear and strong political signals may point toward some big pressure or action in the future.

This is why the Cuban government wants to prepare in advance instead of taking any risk.

In the Cuban capital city of Havana, residents are now being informed by government officials about what steps to take if there were to be an emergency, as well as where to seek shelter or support and how to keep safe during such events.

Additionally, the same type of preparation information has been provided to governmental offices, housing units, and local government agencies.

However, while Cuba is facing numerous external security challenges, it is additionally challenged with one of its most severe economic crises.

It has had chronic fuel shortages; has experienced widespread electrical outages; has seen dramatic increases in food costs and availability of day-to-day essential goods, making life increasingly difficult for ordinary Cubans.

Due to economic troubles going on for many years, an atmosphere of fatigue and disappointment is also visible among the public.

In such a situation, when news of war or possible conflict comes up, people’s worries increase even more.

Fearing American sanctions, a big international bank has broken its relationship with Cuba’s payment company. As a result, from June 6, foreign Visa and Mastercard have stopped working in Cuba.

Now tourists or foreign companies going there cannot make any payments with these cards.

Cuba’s economy depends to a large extent on tourism. But due to the power crisis and cards not working, foreign tourists have reduced their visits.

As a result, Spain’s big hotel chains, ‘Melia’ and ‘Iberostar,’ are closing their dozens of luxury hotels, and Canada’s ‘Royalton’ has completely packed up and left.

Canada’s big mining company, Sherritt International, had been extracting nickel and cobalt in Cuba for the last 30 years. But America has imposed sanctions on the company ‘GAESA’ controlled by the Cuban army.

If we talk about Cuba’s political system, it is still a socialist state today, where the center of power is the Communist Party. In the country, the Communist Party is considered the main and legitimate political force.

Look, America attacks other countries and destroys them. Only because of this, it has become quite infamous today.

But if an attack happens here and America removes the PCC (Communist Party of Cuba), then it is a good thing because communism is like a disease that will not get cured by itself; strict steps (like surgery or military action) need to be taken to completely eliminate it.

Communism, which talks about equality, has in reality become an old king-emperor system (feudalism), where a handful of leaders sitting at the top enjoy themselves and the common people are left as slaves.

The people of Cuba already have no freedom, and now they are being misled by the government and picking up weapons so that their remaining slavery also remains safe.

The mental balance of the Cuban people has fallen so low that they are ready to give their lives to save their handcuffs and chains.

Due to the propaganda of supporters of dictatorial governments, people have become ‘zombies,’ and without thinking, they have started considering slavery to dictators as patriotism.

And among the remaining people, there is no patriotism or desire for freedom. Rather, the system there is like a big prison where people are just following orders out of fear.

I know that maybe some people will not like what I say, but every person has their own thoughts.

Today, common people are fed the juice of patriotism, a fear is sold to them, and they are shown that only the present government can save them from this danger.

And innocent people fall for their words and remain their mental slaves forever. Today, this is happening in many countries. Once a government comes to power, it does not want to leave that chair.

Rules and laws are for common people. There are no rules or laws for leaders and rich people sitting in the system, and the constitution has remained just a piece of paper, which the leader in power changes whenever he wants, according to his wish.

In the world, there are many such countries like Russia, Cuba, North Korea, Belarus, Iran, and Cameroon — and to some extent this tendency is also seen in India — where common people are taught day and night about patriotism, sacrifice, and rules and laws.

But the irony is that in these countries, the politicians and top officials’ own children and family members live luxurious lives abroad and enjoy themselves.

Science is progressing very fast today, which is also a good thing in the long run. But science is researching one thing, which I think is very wrong, and that is the search to increase lifespan. A person like Elon Musk says that death can be avoided.

Humans can live up to 150 years if this discovery happens. If humans gain control over things like death, then on this earth, ordinary people and poor humans will be left as nothing but insects and worms.

Because any new technology discovery first reaches only the rich people and those in power.

For centuries, ‘death’ has been the only thing in this world that is completely equal for kings and beggars, rich and poor.

No matter how much of a billionaire someone is, everyone is helpless in front of death. If science takes away even this last equality, then the balance of humanity will be completely destroyed.

Zelensky Meeting with Oligarch

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that he met Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich in May.

According to Zelenskyy, Abramovich came directly to Kyiv and presented himself as a messenger from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to Zelenskyy, the main topic of the conversation was possible peace talks. Russia wanted to know on what conditions Ukraine was ready to consider ending the war.

In particular, the center of discussion was the Donbas region, which has been one of the most disputed issues since the beginning of the war.

The Ukrainian President said that he gave a clear message to Russia that Ukraine is not ready to leave Donbas. He said, “We will not leave Donbas. We will not let you achieve victory in this way.”

This disclosure has also confirmed the earlier reports. Before this, the Financial Times had claimed in its report that Abramovich had met Zelenskyy.

As per the media source(s) cited by the newspaper at that time, Zelensky had reportedly instructed Abramovich to tell Putin that Ukraine was willing to engage in negotiations directly with Russia.

It clearly shows that both parties continue to present a public image of a hardline position on issues such as a potential resolution; however, they have been engaged in back-channel discussions regarding peacemaking. As a result of having contact with both Russia and Ukraine, Abramovich has become a key intermediary.
