After a tiring day, I watched Lokah: Chapter One — Chandra and surprisingly enjoyed it. The movie has its highs and lows, but overall it manages to deliver an engaging superhero experience.

Performances

• Kalyani Priyadarshan gave a strong and convincing performance, standing out as one of the film’s key strengths.
• Naslen was good, but unfortunately his role was very small and didn’t leave a big impact.
• Though the film’s budget is 30 crores , it does not seem like it.
• The cameos added spice to the movie — some worked really well, but a few felt a little dragged in places.

Visuals & Music

The visuals and graphics were the true heroes of Lokah. For a superhero film, they were top-notch and elevated the entire storytelling. The VFX brought grandeur and scale, which is rare to see in regional cinema. Jake’s music was blasting in theatres, energizing the atmosphere and enhancing every action sequence.

Story & Writing

The story was engaging, the production ideas were ambitious, and the comedy clicked well on screen. However, the writing around the villain and the climax was underwhelming. The final showdown felt too simple, and the villain was not given the depth or weight expected in a film of this scale. This weak antagonist arc holds the film back from reaching its full potential.

Verdict

Lokah: Chapter One — Chandra is a visually rich and musically powerful superhero film that entertains, even though its villain arc is a letdown. With its engaging story and performances, it still manages to give a worthwhile big-screen experience.
