7 Amazing Tips to Improve Your Golf Swing For Beginners
The tips below will help you improve your score card and more.

I think many beginners watch too many videos of professional golfers, on TV, although that is good entertainment.
1. The Uncomplicated swing
Some people say that golf is an un-natural game for the human body.
But as with many sports, such as tennis, baseball, throwing a javelin or using an axe, these actions are natural for the human body.
If you want to throw a stone into the lake, you unconsciously move your left side out of the way, so you can move your right side to the left, as you throw your arm forward.
This is what you basically do, in a golf swing, the only difference is, you are using both arms, as in tennis, baseball or swinging the axe.
2. Speed of the swing
As a beginner, the golf swing is not about power, it is about coordination, as in the sports above. Perhaps you may have watched the ladies golf, especially ladies from the Far East countries.
When they swing the club, it seems as if, it is in slow motion, as the ball travels a long distance.
You will be surprised how far a golf ball will travel, if you have slow swing and make good contact.
On your back swing, make the first two feet, very slow.
There is always a temptation to pull the club down from the top, with your strong right arm. Arms should fall as one unit of both arms.
Try to cock your wrists at top of your swing, and then, let your arms fall, and allow the right side of your body move towards your target.
You might have the feeling of throwing the club head to your target.
3. Play the percentages
Don’t forget, your target is not always the flag on the green; you should look at the lay of the land, such as slopes or bunkers on the fairway.
Avoid fairway hazards by laying up short of the hazard.
It is better to take one more shot, than going into a hazard, and taking two or three extra shots.
4. Swing with the driver
Using the driver off the tee is slightly different from other clubs, position ball inside your left heel, with a wide stance.
Do not place the club head immediately behind the ball, place it directly in front of you, aligned with your nose.
With a driver, you will be sweeping the ball up into the air, as opposed to using irons and some woods.
5. The fairway swing
When on the fairway, if using irons or a fairway wood, you should stand almost centre of your stance, the wood might require a wider stance.
It is worth noting, some beginners do not realise, when taking iron shots on the fairway.
The ball does not come straight of your club head and fly into the air.
The ball is normally squeezed into the grass, and then goes into the air. I think that is something that should stay in your mind.
6. Around the green swing
Swinging around the green is much more about feel, use your favourite short iron such as pitching wedge or 9 irons.
Do not be too greedy, you do not have to try and drop the ball one feet from the pin, Try to drop the ball short and let it run to the flag.
This is definitely the part of the game of golf that is worth doing a lot of practice, the more you do practice; it will pay great dividends for you game.
7. The dreaded bunker swing
This is another swing that should be controlled, as a beginner, pick out a spot about 6 inches behind the ball, and visualise the club head hitting the sand there.
Do not quit on the swing, keep the swing going right through.
Don’t forget, the face of the sand wedge should be open. Don’t touch the sand with club head that will be a penalty shot.
Do not be too concerned where the ball goes, as long as you can get it out of the bunker. As you practice, you can hopefully place the ball on the green by the flag.
Summary
The most important thing you can do, as a gold beginner, is do not try to copy the professional golfers on TV; of course it can give the basics, and a lot of entertainment.
I learned a lot from YouTube golf videos, choose one you like. I personally learned great things, from a man named Shawn Clements.
The golf swing in itself is not too complicated, but as with all sports, you must practice as much as you can.
If you are in a field of daisies and you flick the top off the daisy with a stick, so why can’t you do the same with a golf ball.
