The Joy of Ordinary
I’m not the most grateful person to be around, you can always catch me whining over one thing or the other, and I can bet I’m not alone. However, today before you dread the idea of going to school, college or any other educational institution or before you complain about any luxury you’ve be it your phone, laptop ,air conditioner or anything which is no longer special for you ,I want to share a story which changed my perspective on viewing things.
Saumya Kashyap’s story
Saumya is a 3rd grade student who has been coming to Indraprastha centre of Pehchaan The Street School since last three years. She loves coming to Pehchaan The Street School because she gets to study here . Unlike many of us she isn’t afraid of the idea of studying , rather she embraces the opportunity she has .

Saumya
Saumya gladly tells that she learnt nouns in Pehchaan The Street School last week , following which the same topic got taught in her regular school and she takes pride in telling that she could share her knowledge with entire class even before teacher taught the topic. Well, she truly is optimizing the knowledge she gets at Pehchaan The Street School in her own way and most importantly she is deeply GRATEFUL for it.
Saumya shares with excitement in her voice that she loves the stationary and the refreshments she gets at Pehchaan The Street School. Those packets of chips, chocolates , toffees etcetera might be ordinary for you, but to Saumya and her friends they bring happiness which words can’t describe. The chips, Lotte Choco Pie and lollipops distributed by Manvi among the 250 sutudents of Noida centre of Pehchaan the street school brought the same extraordinary joy to peers of Saumya about which we are talking here. Another wave of joy was experienced by Saumya and her peers when Hamdard sent orange and lemon flavored squash bottles for 240 students of Indraprastha centre of Pehchaan The Street School . Just like refreshments , stationary is another source of ecstasy for Saumya and her peers. Those pencils , erasers , sharpeners or anything which she gets at Pehchaan the Street School is not just another piece of stationary, it is a motivation for her to keep going and never giving up up and beyond that it brings a priceless smile on her face.
Saumya also mentions about how much she loves celebrating Diwali with Pehchaan the Street School. Every year a Diwali event is organizedd at Pehchaan The Street School, where various activities like dancing singing etcetera are arranged for the students. Saumya enjoys participating in these events with her friends .
Well, Saumya’s story does teach us a lot about determination , passion and grit for seeking education, but it also teaches a lot about how happiness is priceless and is not attached to any record breaking achievement or luxurious possession. The happiness which she experiences after studying is beyond any of these aforementioned things because it is not linked to any materialistic possessions, it is linked to her pursuit of finding her identity , her ‘’PEHCHAAN”, through Pehchaan The Street School’s mission to educate students.
