The long awaited adaptation of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure part 7: Steel Ball Run has officially been released!

On March 19, 2026, Netflix dropped Steel Ball Run 1st STAGE, a powerful 47-minute special episode that kicks off one of the greatest arcs in manga history. Adapting a crazy story of the horse race across America, this first stage feels less like a regular anime episode and more like the dramatic start of an epic Western horse race.

From the moment before the Steel Ball Run Race was started in 1890, Johnny Joestar, the main character, is a former genius jockey who became paraplegic after a petty fight. He met a guy named Gyro Zeppeli, walked away after registers to Steel Ball Run Race, challenged a thief in a duel and by throwing a Steel Ball at his shoulder, made his opponent shoot himself in the head. Interested, a bystander in a wheelchair touches the Steel Ball as it spins in its holster, causing him to momentarily stand up.

Fan Reaction So Far:

The response has been overwhelmingly positive. Long-time JoJo fans are calling it one of the strongest adaptations yet — emotional, stylish, and faithful while feeling fresh. Many are already calling it “peak cinema” and “Episode of the Year” material. New viewers are equally hooked, praising how accessible and exciting the story feels even without prior knowledge.

Of course, some are impatient for more (the 2nd STAGE is scheduled for Fall 2026), but the consensus is clear: David Production delivered.
