The Audacity of Dreams

You could say I come from a family of Dreamers. Growing up I watched both of my parents try to seemingly outdream each other. I still don’t know who won. What I do know is that dreams are powerful. For a lot of people, it’s what keeps them going and what keeps them sane.

Life can be tough… only the resilient survive… but dreaming is how you refuel when you are out of every other resource. There have been many times where I felt like there is no place for me here and my only escape was my dreams. I made sure to dream big dreams to keep me occupied and happily lost in fantasy. Little did I know, my dreams would take on a life of its own.

All I remember is one day innocently dreaming about having my own Amusement Park Smart City that operates 24hrs a day 3 days a week (Yes you read that correctly) and then next thing I was not in control anymore. Did I mention it doubles as a college and everyone that works there goes to school there and lives on campus? Literally Live/Work/Shop/Play + Grow and we self sustain by opening up to the public 3 days a week and generating revenue from our V-commerce platform (more about this later). You are probably judging me right now, but it’s ok; I will survive… Never mind the details — just know I built a whole functioning city and everyone loves it there.

There’s just one PROBLEM. My dream wasn’t content being a dream.

Over the past few years I have watched it grow a mind of its own and slowly brainstorm its way into a real business plan. But the absolute worst part is it bugs me everyday about it and won’t shut up. Every day I have to listen to the big master plan and it gives me a task list of things to do and a list of people I need to email and meet to advocate on its behalf. All of a sudden I am my dream’s personal assistant.

So here I am… assisting. Assisting my dream with its master plan to execute on its vision. I am on step 3 so far doing the blog. I will keep you all posted. Till then — Dream Forward.
