Deception

This poem is a relentless plunge into the abyss of self-betrayal, deception, and existential despair. The self is the true deciever of all.

Deception

My eyes deceive The sin it sees, it ultimately reaps Incessantly, profane it receives Crystal tears gush forth, at the display of such blasphemy My eyes can’t look, for ‘neath it runs the phantom image of idiocy

My tongue deceives, Whatever uttered by its partners, it shamelessly believes. It speaks, what is ought not to Agrees, to what isn’t true. My tongue can’t speak ; for it is bound my words of infelicity.

My ears deceive They yearn voice, but when they get it, they grieve All sound to them is like mere rustling of yellow leaves My ears can’t hear, for lament is their sweet cacophony

My soul deceives An infinite tempest of torment it receives A coquette image of deception it weaves Only the language of torture it perceives. Oh! My soul isn’t mine It has taken my leave

I deceive Darkness I conceive My own self I mislead A puppet, a master, a liar, a fool. Tout, I deceive.
