If - ありがとうの軌跡 (The Trajectory of Thanks)

Hey, I’m back! SOOOO my ireisu’s oshi releasing new music to celebrating his 4th anniversary! The song title is ありがとうの軌跡 or can be read Arigatou no Kiseki. This sentence can be translated as miracle, but I choose to use trajectory word. I know this is just the mtl version of the music lyric, but I hope this can convey his message a little :) Enjoy~

Corrupted from the shadows,

理不尽な拒絶にも

Even in the face of unreasonable rejection

嫌気がさしていたんだ

iyakega sashiteitanda

I was fed up

[ these 3 lines part can be translated as: I was sick of the unreasonable rejection that was eating away at me from the shadows ]

もがいて 期待して ただ精一杯で

Mogaite, kitai shite, tada seippai de

Struggling, hoping, just doing my best

嘆いて 躓いて ハッピーエンドはなくて

nageite, tsumazuite, happiendo wa nakute

Lamenting, stumbling, there’s no happy ending

それでもただ傍で笑ってくれたのは 君だったね

Sore demo tada soba de waratte kureta no wa kimi datta ne

But even so, it was you who was smiling beside me

一人迷い込んだ暗いトンネルも

Hitori mayoi konda kurai ton’neru mo

Even the dark tunnel I wandered into alone is

「ありがとう」って 伝えたい君に

I want to say “Thank you” to you

The reason I can be me is because you were there

Worried and unable to see, what is the right thing?

I imagined an ideal, but reality destroyed it

Itsumo boku no mae o aruite senaka o misete kureta ne

You always walked in front of me, showing me your back

「ありがとう」って言葉じゃ足りない

The words “Thank you” aren’t enough

A beautiful blue dream story

気づいた 何者でもない僕が

Kidzuita nanimono demo nai boku ga

I realized that I, who am nobody

僕でいられているのは きっと君が

Boku de irarete iru no wa kitto kimi ga

I can be me because you

奇跡の確率で見つけてくれた君が

kiseki no kakuritsu de mitsukete kureta kimi ga

You found me by a miraculous chance

そこにいたから

soko ni itakara

because you were there.

[ these 3 lineslast reff part can be translated as: The words “thank you” aren’t enough, it’s such a beautiful blue dream story, I realized, the reason I, who am nobody, can be myself, must be because you were there, someone who found me by a miracle. ]
