Cryptocurrency mining is a very important thing, but anyone would be shocked if they knew how much electricity it consumes.
Bitcoin mining is using up sufficient electricity to serve whole countries. Let that sink in for a second. The total population of Argentina consumes less electricity in a year than Bitcoin miners who waste their computational power and burn it on confirming transactions.

Some say BSC is less secure and decentralized because it has only 21 validators, while Bitcoin and Ethereum have many more. But security isn’t just about big numbers. To hack BSC, you’d have to control 11 trusted groups, which is hard and costly. If someone did attack, the value of the tokens would drop fast, making it pointless. Even Bitcoin’s mining is mostly done by a few big players, so perfect decentralization is rare.
