IDENTITY POLITICS IS MALIGNANT
What is identity politics? It’s something we all know far too well but accept as a part of life. Where did this avoidance mechanism come from? A substantial amount of our products/food/daily processes are sabotaging our biological processes, our ability to think. Polluting our environment has become too normalized. It becomes less of a concern when you can afford houses with state-of-the-art air and water filtration systems, a full cart at ridiculously expensive Whole Foods, and probably an armageddon bunker. It’s sad to see people so out of touch with reality, but at the end of the day, we always knew about the 7 deadly sins: pride, gluttony, sloth, vanity, envy, greed, and wrath. We should also admit that our initial reaction isn’t always our actual opinion; it’s completely necessary to marinate in our thoughts. When we share our initial thoughts, that data is not obsolete at all, but it should not be accepted as concrete information prematurely — that’s where pride comes in. You need to be open to being incorrect from time to time, which is also a natural part of science; so why is it so taboo in society?

Identity politics is what happens when identity replaces conscience, impulse replaces reflection, and comfort replaces responsibility.
