Reacher 1, C+

A show where your proverbial action man is also smart as shit.

There was a lot of things to like, however there was more problems than i expected. For starters, the pacing of the show felt like a Paramount production where the first 2 episodes are 10/10 ass in seat productions, and then the rest of the season loses the bombastic budget and writing that got you hooked. Most representative of this syndrome are Star Trek productions under Alex Kurtzman. Then the police procedural was very interesting, but there were so many deus ex machinas to resolve the story in episode 7 so that character deaths in episode 8 are justified.

Alan Ritchson plays title character Jack Reacher, and his portrayal (and direction) has the character appear as an indestructible superhero. Pure male fantasy. No problem there, one of the highlights.

There’s multiple seasons of the show, and I’ll probably check out season 2, but if it has the same pacing for the story it’ll be dropped.
