A deathly silence hung over the Oval Office in the White House. This was The Boys’ final plan, and the fate of the entire world rested on it. Billy Butcher, Kimiko, and Ryan stood facing Homelander. Rage was boiling inside Homelander — he was about to end both his son Ryan and Butcher for good.

But before he could, Kimiko played her last card. She gathered up all the radiation power she’d received from Frenchie and Sister Sage’s research, tore open her chest, and unleashed a powerful blast. The explosion struck all three — Homelander, Butcher, and Ryan. The whole room filled with smoke.

When the smoke thinned, Butcher and Ryan lay collapsed on the ground. The Compound V inside them had been completely burned out — they were now two ordinary humans. For a brief moment Butcher thought his plan had worked, that he’d managed to depower Homelander too. But that joy lasted only a moment.

Out of the smoke stepped Homelander — a terrifying smile on his face. He didn’t have a single scratch, and all his powers were perfectly intact. Seeing this, Butcher was stunned.

The truth was, right before this fight, Homelander had made a move. He’d injected himself with the V-One he’d taken from Bombsight. V-One, Frederick Vought’s oldest and most powerful serum, could make a human immortal. Homelander had already been part of Project Odessa, which meant he’d been given Compound V at the blastocyst stage — his DNA was extraordinarily strong from birth. When his already-powerful DNA combined with V-One, his cell bonds became so unbreakable that Kimiko’s artificial and weak radiation blast couldn’t even touch him. Butcher and Ryan only had ordinary Compound V, so their powers burned away, but Homelander survived.

Butcher understood that their greatest plan had failed. Now standing before him was a Homelander who wasn’t just powerful — he had truly become an invincible God, one that neither radiation nor virus could affect.

Then the dance of death began. Homelander’s first gaze fell on Kimiko. The blast had left her physically broken, and her healing power was gone. Without showing any mercy, Homelander burned her where she stood with his Heat Vision. With Kimiko’s death, her and Frenchie’s dream of living peacefully in France was erased forever.

Then Homelander turned to Butcher. Butcher, whose Compound V and his dangerous tentacled tumor had both been burned away by the radiation, was now just a weak, ordinary man. In his hand was the crowbar he’d meant to kill Homelander with, but now that iron rod was useless. Homelander laughed, and with brutal cruelty beat Butcher to death right in front of Ryan. Butcher’s story of revenge ended there, in the most painful way.

Ryan, now just a frightened, powerless boy, trembled at the sight of it all. Homelander didn’t kill him — a loneliness was growing inside him, and he felt that Ryan was his last remaining family. He forcibly grabbed Ryan and tore through the roof of the White House, carrying him to Vought Tower so he could brainwash him his own way.

Meanwhile, in the White House hall, Hughie and Mother’s Milk had killed Oh Father with his own sonic blast and a ball gag. But when they heard the blast and got word that Homelander had survived and that Butcher and Kimiko were dead, the ground slipped out from under them. There was nothing left to fight with — they fled.

By the seashore, Starlight had killed The Deep by handing him over to sea creatures and an octopus. When Hughie told her the plan had failed, they all decided to go underground. The Boys’ team was completely shattered. Hughie, the pregnant Starlight, and M.M. saved themselves and went into hiding. The world’s last hope had gone out too — Homelander had won.

After seizing the White House, Homelander appeared live on TV and told the entire world that he was no longer an ordinary Supe, but this world’s true God. The US Military had learned that no Nuclear Bomb or weapon could harm him now — they surrendered without a fight. America’s entire system collapsed.

Vought International was no longer just a company; it became America’s actual government. Through Oh Father and his Democratic Church of America, people were forced to worship Homelander. Anyone who resisted was sent to VernonCorp’s Freedom Camps and tortured. On charges of treason, Ashley Barrett was sentenced to death live on TV, so that fear would stay lodged in people’s hearts. There was no such thing as freedom left in the world.

Hiding underground, Hughie and the pregnant Starlight had only one last weapon left — the Supe Virus. They wanted to release it into the air and kill Homelander. But they learned a terrifying truth that completely shattered their hope. The Supe Virus that had been made killed Supes by binding to the specific cellular receptors of ordinary Compound V. But now V-One was mixed into Homelander’s blood, and its molecular structure was entirely different — it didn’t have the receptors the virus needed to attack. Which meant that if Hughie and Annie released the virus, all the other Supes in the world — even Starlight — would die, but nothing would happen to Homelander. He was completely immune to that virus. It was the exact same logic by which the virus had no effect on Soldier Boy either. The world was trapped in a dark age, where Homelander had become an immortal dictator and there was no scientific method left to kill him.

Now they had only one last hope — Soldier Boy. Frenchie’s old research had made it clear that Kimiko’s artificial and weak blast couldn’t break Homelander’s V-One and Odessa hybrid DNA. For that, they needed Soldier Boy’s real and most powerful native radiation blast, which carried roughly 20 Sieverts of energy. Only that could burn Homelander’s cells and turn him into an ordinary human, the way it had done to Bombsight.

But this was no easy plan. After the fight, Homelander had betrayed his father Soldier Boy and once again locked him in a cryo-stasis chamber in the lowest part of Vought Tower. And on top of that, it was a huge risk — who knew if Soldier Boy might wake up and side with his son again? But a desperate person does what they must. Hughie and the pregnant Annie risked their lives and entered Vought Tower’s underground lab in the dark of night. Annie blinded the cameras and guards with her light powers, and Hughie hacked the computer to open the cryo-stasis chamber.

The ice melted and Soldier Boy came to out of the smoke — in a furious rage. The moment he stepped out, he grabbed Hughie by the throat and pinned him to the wall. But Annie stopped him and explained what was happening out in the world — how Homelander had taken over America, declared himself God through the Democratic Church, and spread destruction everywhere. Most importantly, Annie reminded him that it was Homelander who had betrayed him and locked him back in that box, because he feared Soldier Boy’s power.

Hearing this, Soldier Boy’s anger shot through the roof. He was an old-school, hard man who had no taste for Homelander’s whining and his calling himself God. He’d already considered Homelander a weak, treacherous, and insane child. When he learned that his own son had forced him back to sleep, the fire of revenge blazed up inside him. Soldier Boy picked up his Shield and said: “He’s no God… he’s just a cheap fucking knock-off, and today I’ll fix my own mistake myself.”

Now the stage was set. Soldier Boy, Hughie, and Annie advanced toward the very top of Vought Tower with the last bit of courage they had left.

On the top floor, Homelander sat on his ‘God’ throne. Beside him was a frightened Ryan, kept there by force. Seeing his father Soldier Boy alive left Homelander stunned. Instead of anger, he turned a little emotional — he felt that maybe now his family was complete. He said, “Dad, I did all this for our family. Clara wanted this too. I’m immortal now, you’re immortal too. Together we can rule this world. We’re Gods.” He genuinely hoped his father would embrace him and feel proud of his power.

But Soldier Boy, that hard, macho man, was disgusted seeing Homelander’s whining and his hunger for attention. He saw no God in Homelander, just a cowardly child. In anger he said, “You’re no God… you’re just an attention-starved, weak child… You are a cheap fucking knock-off.”

Hearing this, Homelander’s heart completely broke and his anger turned into madness. Screaming, he attacked Soldier Boy. A terrifying fight broke out between the two. Homelander had the power of V-One and the Odessa hybrid DNA, but Soldier Boy had years of combat experience and a heavy Shield. The fight cracked the tower’s walls. Taking advantage of this, Annie gathered all her energy and blinded Homelander for a short while with a brilliant flash of light. In that moment Hughie quietly pulled Ryan to safety on the side, so he could escape this game of death.

In the middle of the fight, when Homelander was slightly distracted, Soldier Boy seized him in a tight grip. He began charging his real and most dangerous radiation blast from his chest. Homelander realized what was about to happen — he tried to escape, but Soldier Boy wouldn’t let go. An intense and ferocious 20-Sievert blast went off, destroying the entire top of Vought Tower.

When the smoke cleared, Homelander lay collapsed on the ground. Soldier Boy’s blast was so powerful that it burned and completely broke all the bonds of Homelander’s V-One and Odessa hybrid DNA — the V in his blood was entirely incinerated. Homelander got up and tried to use his Heat Vision, but nothing happened. He tried to fly, but stayed on the ground. His powers were gone forever. He was now just an ordinary, weak human.

Facing death, Homelander began to cry in fear. He begged his father, “Forgive me, I’ll do anything, don’t kill me.” But Soldier Boy looked at him with utter disgust, raised his heavy Shield, and with a single blow smashed Homelander’s head in. The end of America’s greatest dictator and fake God came at the hands of his own father, very pathetically, right there.

Homelander was dead. Soldier Boy was exhausted. He dropped the blood-soaked Shield to the ground and looked at the throne — but he had no desire to rule the world or become a God. All he wanted was liquor, freedom, and a good time. He told Hughie and Annie, “Never find me again,” and walked off alone from there.

Hughie, Annie, and Ryan escaped this dance of death and made it outside. Vought International had been completely destroyed, and the world had come to know that Homelander was no God.

This was not a Happy Ending. Important members of The Boys — Butcher, Kimiko, and Frenchie — had been killed, and the world stood on a heap of ruins. But it was certainly a bittersweet ending, full of logic. Hughie and the pregnant Annie take Ryan — now an ordinary boy, his powers burned away by Kimiko’s blast — along with them and move toward starting a new, normal life, with the hope that no new Homelander is ever born into this world again.
