Aryana “Sayeed” is misusing the name of Sayids, a defamation case?

.بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَرْقِيكَ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ يُؤْذِيكَ، مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ نَفْسٍ أَوْ عَيْنٍ حَاسِدٍ، اللَّهُ يَشْفِيكَ، بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَرْقِيكَ

Aryana Seyeed is a well known afghan/iranian artist, musician and entertainer.

“Sayed” is a name given to descendants of our Prophet Mohammed (saw), and means “respected leaders, judges and advocates”.

From a legal perspective, unless she can prove her lineage- that she is in fact a Seyyid, she should an can be accountable for defamation.

The name “Seyyid” bears a deep and strong religious and cultural connotation within the Islamic world and culture.

The fact that this woman misuses the respected and holy name of Seyids in her acts, music and entertainment- that are considered haram and disliked within Islam and the muslim cultures — is to be read as an direct attempt of provocation.

On the side note, the fact that is the music and entertainment industry is a prove in itself that is not a Seyyid, because Seyyids do not go into such industries.

As an afghan and with Seyyid parents, I am ashamed on her behalf, and on behalf of all those afghans that are so ignorant on these matters.
