The Mother Of All, Gotta be C!

Delving deep in low level language programming for me was both revelatory and refreshing, for reasons that are better experienced by doing rather than observing another do it. The doing part makes vibe coders cringe for some reasons, especially their art of leveraging out put with a perfect prompt, so many seem to believe!

In college/University computer programming is introduced mostly in C, and once you’re proficient in it, learning another programming language won’t be a nipsey hustle. Jumping on C++, Java, C#, Dart, Go, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, etc, feels like fishing in familiar waters where functions in C feel the same across from definition to calling. Structs in C hint on inception of OOP principles by how items of it are accessed and modified.

C programming equips one with knowledge on how computers actually work. Memory management teaches efficiency and optimization that you can carry foward to later high level languages. Debuging and not being afraid of terminal and server logs is imprinted early on as you master C.

Truth be told it’s not a joy ride along, discipline must be maintained for endurance to yield senior status we all desire, though only a few make it to top in their unforgiving miles of learning by doing meaningful projects that challenge every concept whose surface got scratched on a fundamentals long streak to completion.
