ran front end and backend locally

using tmux which was super helpful, i ran both my front end and my backend locally on my machine

i just did npm run dev for the front end and

./gradlew bootrun for the backend

now im thinking is this what services that run your backend does?, except their servers are somewhere im not sure where.
