While Week 13 only felt truly notable for the Zimas’ win over the Pride, Week 14 felt revelatory.
The Pride bounced back in a big way, though maybe not the best way, as you’ll see below.
Catuli is serious (again).
Bikini is for real, or at least they’re becoming for real at the right time.
The Zimas are not on solid ground.
Maybe there’s a miracle left in BDPH’s tank.
Priester can fish out wins against good teams.
We keep waiting for a Fall Guy turnaround that, honestly, might not come.
And so on.
With some lopsided results, we once again have a race for the final wild card seed, though the likes of the Hackers, Fall Guy and HDH have work to do to truly get back into it.
We’re also seeing some teams trend in the right direction and others … not so much. And even with the results you saw, you might be surprised at who’s going which way.
Rather than belabor it too much, though, let’s just show you.
- LANCER PRIDE (Hitting -2 to 3rd, Pitching 1st): There’s not much question that the Pride will be in the postseason and it still will take a collapse for them to be anything other than the top seed. That said, this week’s hitting numbers for the Pride were concerning. No homers? Only 10 RBI? A .247/.680 slash line? Yes, they went 6–1–1 at the plate, but that had more to do with the Benders slashing a miniscule .175/.518 than anything else. That marks a second-straight week that the Pride underperformed at the plate, one week removed from slashing just .224/.695 in their loss to the Zimas, and it’s reflected in their slide with their hitting split. It could just be temporary, mind you, but it’s perhaps a notable crack in the Pride’s armor that, if it’s not sealed, could be exploited by teams late in the season or possibly in the postseason.
- (+1) JOHN JACOB ZIMAHEIMER SCHMITT (Hitting -1 to 4th, Pitching 6th): It might seem odd to see the Zimas moving up to second after they lost their playoff spot and got beaten by 10 categories, but if you look at their numbers this week, they were actually pretty good, just not as good as Bikini’s. Most teams would take four holds, a 2.13 ERA, a particularly strong 0.79 WHIP, nine homers and a slash line of .279/.802. The Zimas still have work to do, no doubt, but they largely control their own destiny, as they mostly face playoff teams or contenders going forward. Play well and win and the Zimas will belong in the postseason. Don’t and they won’t. It’s oddly poetic, and, well, the way it should be.
- (-1) EAMUS CATULI (Hitting 2nd, Pitching 7th): Catuli did something the league has found oddly difficult to do recently in beating the Hangover with good numbers on the whole, particularly on the hitting side. For whatever reason, this seemed to be a pitching-heavy week and it’s notable that Catuli’s pitching also looked much improved this week, even though it’s not reflected in any split movement. A defending and two-time champion, Catuli knows what they’re doing and, with the likely second seed, it’s just a matter of maintenance. Plus, consider that they have Jose Ramirez and Max Fried on the injured list, ready to come back for the stretch run. Catuli may have dropped a spot overall in this week’s Power Rankings, but they’re in good shape and are the league’s clear number-two contender behind the Pride.
- (+1) RHUBARB BIKINI (Hitting +3 to 1st, Pitching 8th): Bikini got a statement win this week and it shows up in the Power Rankings as they go up a spot overall and occupy the top spot in the hitting split for the first time this year. Bikini leads the league in homers, RBI and OPS and have an upper-quadrant batting average. It’s been a slow burn to get to the top, but turnarounds after slow starts for the likes of Pete Alonso and Freddie Freeman, along with the sudden hot streak Junior Caminero is on, has put Bikini in a great spot. It’s been easy to look at the entirety of the Glorioso and disregard those teams, in large part because everyone had been under .500 for so long. But with Bikini now nine games over that mark, it’s time to truly take them seriously. That said, F&F will provide a good challenge this week and should prove to be a litmus test after this week’s success.
- (+1) FUKUROUND AND FINDOOT (Hitting 7th, Pitching 3rd): F&F may have lost to Priester, but it was a matchup worthy of its One To Watch designation and one where both teams, for the most part, posted good numbers. If anything, notice that F&F’s hitting numbers were somewhat improved this week — 12 homers, a .795 OPS — while its pitching numbers were more pedestrian. It speaks to F&F becoming a more balanced team that can make the adjustments needed in a postseason matchup to try and pull off a victory. A Week 14 matchup against Priester isn’t necessarily the time to engage in those tactics, but that might be different in Week 21, where a Sunday move could flip a category like batting average — which Priester only won by .001 this week — in F&F’s favor. F&F might not have won this week, but they saw what happened and can’t be too displeased. They’ll be fine.
- (+2) JUDAS PRIESTER (Hitting +1 to 5th, Pitching 9th): Priester is looking good right now — so good that it’s a little surprising their pitching split didn’t get better. A 2.21 ERA and 0.81 WHIP are solid figures, though admittedly, Priester just had bad luck this week, going minus-2 in net wins. Still, spiritually at least, this week was a big win for Priester in that it’s a representative sample of exactly what they’ll need to do to get past the first round of the postseason. Priester has a rough stretch of scheduling over the next few weeks, despite this week’s matchup against the sinking Hackers, but they finish with Fall Guy, Mercy & the Benders. Priester has reason to believe it can go into the postseason with momentum and has to like their chances after this week’s win.
- (-3) SOUTH BEND BENDERS (Hitting -2 to 10th, Pitching 2nd): It would be disingenuous to call this week a fatal blow against the Benders’ 2026 chances, but to say things don’t look good at all right now is an understatement. When you’re posting a .175/.518 slash line on one side and a 6.30 ERA and 1.60 WHIP on the other, it’s fair to say things are not looking good. The pitching is particularly a concern because, honestly, it looked like all the Benders had going for it prior to this week. Now, the Benders pretty much just have to hope for a complete turnaround in addition to a number of other things going right. Yes, they do have a relatively easy schedule the next four weeks before finishing with the Zimas and Priester. But if the Benders keep posting numbers like this week’s, they might be seen as an easy opponent for other teams rather than the other way around.
- (-1) BIGADODDLEDOOPENGUINHEADS (Hitting -1 to 6th, Pitching 10th): On the one hand, a 10–5 win over Fall Guy is a damn good looking one for BDPH, for whom the countdown is on in their Bubbler fantasy sports career, and being in a wild card seed, for now, is the place where BDPH wants to be. On the other hand, a look at the number reveals BDPH’s win wasn’t exactly one to write home bout. They won the slash categories offensively with .217/.615 marks and errors with five. A 3.98 ERA is serviceable, but not a consistent winner. It’s more difficult to say that about their winning 1.35 WHIP number. Circumstances very much fell BDPH’s way, but without some improvement, there’s a chance this week could be a one-off. It’s fair to say the league might be rooting a little for BDPH to make one last run, but with a tough remaining schedule, things are going to have to fall very right for that to happen.
- HARRY DOYLE’S HANGOVER (Hitting 11th, Pitching +1 to 4th): The ghost ship finally hit the rocks this week, running into a good Catuli team that handled it easily. HDH continues to get solid pitching numbers, and with Eury Perez off the injured list, there’s far less fear about them failing to make the innings limit. But without making moves, counting stats will always be an issue for HDH’s offense. Ultimately, this week’s loss made it more difficult to see an HDH coast to the postseason as a realistic possibility and while they may pick off an opponent or two yet this season, it’s still highly unlikely HDH finds its way past teams actively trying.
- FALL GUY STUNTMAN ASSOCIATION (Hitting 12th, Pitching -1 to 5th): No, nothing is over yet, but it’s looking more and more like this season might be a lost cause for Fall Guy. The offense truly is not there, as evidenced by that 5–25–2 record they’ve got at the plate over the last four weeks. This week, the pitching wasn’t much better, posting a 5.19 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and minus-2 net wins number. Yes, they made a whole bunch of trades trying to remake their roster a couple weeks ago. It’s not looking like they made much of a difference, though. Five and a half games back of the last wild card spot is far from insurmountable, but we’re waiting to see something different out of Fall Guy and it simply isn’t showing up yet. We’re used to success from Fall Guy, sure, but there have been a few times where they’ve had seasons where things simply didn’t work out. Maybe this is one of those years.
- ANDY HACKS AT 3–0 (Hitting +1 to 8th, Pitching 11th): The good news for the Hackers is they didn’t lose this week. The bad news is, they didn’t win, either, as they played Mercy to the most blasé 8–8 tie one could possibly dream up. There … really wasn’t much to discuss with this matchup, as none of the numbers were stellar and neither of the teams seem to be going anywhere. In fact, it’s almost as if it’s not worth writing more than a single paragraph about this one.
- HAVE MERCY (Hitting +1 to 9th, Pitching 12th): The good news for Mercy is it didn’t lose this week. The bad news is, it didn’t win, either, as it played the Hackers to the most blasé 8–8 tie one could possibly dream up. There … really wasn’t much to discuss with this matchup, as none of the numbers were stellar and neither of the teams seem to be going anywhere. In fact, it’s almost as if it’s not worth writing more than a single paragraph about this one. •
