USA Men’s World Cup Team, Secretly Replaced by Women’s Team, Advances

The United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) has won their first two games in the group play stage of the 2026 World Cup, securing not only a ticket to the round of 32 (“knockout round”) but also clinching first place in their group after only two games for the first time in the “modern” World Cup era.

But not everything is as it seems.

An undercover investigation revealed a bombshell. The USMNT was secretly replaced by the United States Women’s National Soccer Team (USWNT) only days before the start of the World Cup.

While being super sneaky, the move made perfect sense on paper, as the USWNT has been a perennial powerhouse in both the World Cup and the Olympics. Meanwhile, the USMNT has been a consistent disappointment.

The subterfuge was the brain child of United States Soccer Federation president Cindy Parlow Cone, who had nothing but glowing praise for everyone involved in “Operation Reverse Crying Game.”

“It truly took a village to pull this thing off,” said Cone. “It was an absolute marvel of prosthetics capped off by a selfless willingness by all of the women to get short haircuts.”

The US “men’s” team has stormed through their first two matchups in the group stage, beating Paraguay 4–1 and then Australia 2–0.

“Everything has been better since we swapped out the players,” Cone said. “The defense, the passing, the corners, the shots… even the body odor.”

“This has been an absolute blast so far,” forward Sophia Smith said, who is playing the part of Folarin Balogun and scored two goals against Paraguay. “And this is a great warm-up for our World Cup next year.”
