44% of uploaded music recently is AI-generated, Deezer confirms

On April 20, 2026 Deezer newsroom published an article confirming that daily, the amount of tracks uploaded with the use of Artificial Intelligence is approximately 75,000.

Deezer is a global music streaming service, based in France, in 2007. It is known, that Deezer do not support monetisation of an AI-generated music, and last year in January, they released a new AI detection tool, which supposed to help the company track and reduce the amount of synthetic music that is rapidly uploaded to a streaming platform.

The CEO of Deezer, Alexis Lanternier, commented AI music to be „far from marginal phenomenon” and delivers a massage that the platform should be safe for artists and clear for fans.

Moreover, by their study, more than 80% of people agreed that AI-music should definitely be labeled as such.

The problem of AI-generated music has become more widespread over last year when AI tools began to be easily used. Multiple streaming services including Deezer and Spotify made a statement that AI could be used by “bad actors” and “degrades the user experience”.
