What If I’m Not Getting Better?

Today, I edited another TikTok video.

This time, I chose a version with higher-quality visuals because I wanted the final output to look more professional.

But I quickly ran into another problem.

The video looked good, but the audio wasn’t.

I spent a lot of time trying to make it work, but no matter what I did, it still didn’t feel right.

In the end, I finished the video.

But if I’m being honest, I wasn’t proud of it.

It felt like one of those projects where you submit it because it’s done, not because you’re happy with the result.

That was frustrating.

Lately, I’ve been wondering if I’m actually improving.

I’ve been editing videos almost every day, watching tutorials, looking for better B-rolls, researching hooks, and trying different techniques.

But today, it felt like none of that mattered.

Instead of seeing progress, I only saw the mistakes.

I even caught myself thinking that maybe I’m not learning anymore.

Maybe I’m just repeating the same process without getting any better.

It’s not a good feeling.

Still, after sitting with that frustration for a while, I realized something.

Maybe growth isn’t always easy to notice while you’re in the middle of it.

When we compare today’s work to the perfect edits we see online, it’s easy to believe we’re falling behind.

But maybe the real mistake is expecting improvement to happen overnight.

I’ll probably have more days like this.

Days where I question myself.

Days where I feel like I’m not good enough.

But I’ll keep showing up anyway.

Because even if today’s video wasn’t my best, quitting would guarantee that I never get better.

For now, I’ll keep editing, keep learning, and trust that one day I’ll look back at these early struggles and realize they were part of the journey all along.
