My ‘ennui’ yesterday turned into a full-on crash in the afternoon and a heavy nap. I remind myself that I am still only 4 days post surgery lol. It was a draggy day.

Today will be less so.

The waxing gibbous Moon is still in sensitive and moody Cancer and will oppose pandora’s box centaur Pholus, Mercury, and Mars (who went back in bounds early this morning) in Capriicorn and then square healer Chiron in Aries and the Moon’s Nodes.

This is a push to initiate change in a bigger way.

With an orbit of approx 90 years, Pholus travels in an elliptical orbit between Saturn and Neptune and is explosive in nature and a harbinger of radical change, often a spiritual ‘emergency’. Melanie Reinhart says Pholus is about the lid coming off, when something is released that starts an unstoppable chain of events. Pholus moved into Capricorn in 2018/19 and won’t enter Aquarius until 2040, when Pluto will be almost finished that 20-year journey.

As a slower moving energy that’s following Pluto through Capricorn, it’s almost as if Pholus is dealing with the things that Pluto excavated and revealed over the last 15 years. David Leskowitz says that Pholus is about healing the root chakra or our literal roots, our connection to the Earth, our ancestors, and our parents.

Today the motherly Cancer Moon opposes Pholus and then opposes Mercury and Mars who are approaching a conjunction on the 27th at 17˚ 17’ Capricorn. This lunar opposition may make today more challenging emotionally as you may have to face something that’s been revealed around your roots that makes you feel insecure and unsafe.

The oppositions to Mercury and Mars and the square to Shaman Chiron and the Nodes suggests that this is launching another turning point week. Your mind and action begin to align towards what you can practically do to find your core self and to let go of those old ancestral and root traumas. As both Mars and Mercury square the key to healing, Chiron, and then both meet and then square the Nodes on the 27th and 28th this drive to heal will increase. We’ll talk more about it as the week goes on but this is also all tied into Uranus stationing direct on the 27th. This is all bringing some radical breakthroughs and change.

The energy is also ramped up by two solar flares this morning. An M5 and an M2 erupted simultaneously. With the Moon in protective Cancer this may mean that the urge to pus forward tires you quickly. As always, lots of self-care is called for. Drink water, hug a tree, bare feet on grass (if you can see the grass lol — we can’t), and regular restoration and rejuvenation might be needed. We are also only two days from the Full Moon so take extraordinary good care of you today.

The only other aspect today is Saturn in Pisces opposing way shower Hekate in Virgo. This will bring some clarity around practical ways you can ground your connection with whatever God means for you in useful ways so that you feel that you have more purpose and meaning going forward. Hekate is retrograde and will be until April 16 2024 at 23˚ 33’ Leo, so we may not completely see the path forward yet. That doesn’t mean not moving forward, or attending to details that will help you to move forward. April is a cracker of a month and what’s prepared now will leap out of the starting gate like a speeding bullet.

The Saturn/Hekate opposition is, however, a chance to get some clarity, to make lists, to make a plan, and to think about how to integrate the Mercury/Mars applying conjunction to start building. It’s also an opportunity to lean into trust and faith in your abilities and ‘backbone’ with determination to be a good human and do good and useful work in the world that integrates spirit and matter.

It’s worth taking a look at the symbols for Saturn on this opposition. I will let you take from them what fits for you.

Even when one cannot be in direct contact with the spiritual light, just to think of it evokes it, and attunes us to it even if we are aware of it or not. This degree has a tremendous sense of hope that it naturally communicates to others simply through the strength of its faith. It has an acute sense of the separation that exists between spirit and matter, but deeper than this a knowing that that separation is an illusion.

The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “An Inca chief wearing many emeralds.” Emerald is the traditional Vedic gemstone for the planet Mercury. In this degree we find an abundant power to communicate, which most usually operates at subliminal levels, meaning that the person triggers valuable and important thoughts in others, and functions as a go-between between the forces of nature and other people. There’s a richness of connectedness here with a wonderful array of many different thoughts, ideas, and ways of looking at life. This person carries a soothing aura, one that invites relationship and connection and which supports the healing of all schisms in the patterns of connectedness.
