Why I’m Building a Team at Primerica (And Who This Is Actually For)

A year ago, I was working three jobs. I had 2.5 degrees. And I still felt like I had nothing to show for any of it.

I’d tried teaching. I’d tried food and beverage. I’d tried hospitality. Every single one of them had the same three things in common: an alarm I dreaded, a boss I answered to, and a ceiling on what I could ever actually earn no matter how hard I worked. I wasn’t lazy. I wasn’t unqualified. I just hadn’t found the thing that fit.

Then I came across a post on Threads that stopped me mid-scroll. It wasn’t flashy. It was just someone being honest about an opportunity I’d genuinely never considered — building a career in financial services, specifically helping families get life insurance coverage they actually understand. I messaged. I asked questions. And eventually, I said yes to finding out more.

What Actually Changed

I’m not going to tell you my life flipped overnight, because it didn’t. What changed first was smaller than that: I started studying for my license. I started learning an industry I knew nothing about. I started having real conversations with people about protecting their families — and realizing I was good at it, and that it mattered.

The bigger shifts came after that: no more punching a clock for someone else’s schedule. No more hitting an income ceiling that had nothing to do with how hard I worked. The ability to build something that’s actually mine, one conversation at a time.

What It Actually Takes (The Honest Part)

I’m not going to sell you a fantasy, because that’s not what this is.

• You have to get licensed. In my case, that meant studying for and passing a state life insurance exam — real material, real test, no shortcuts.
• It takes consistency, not a lucky break. The people who do well here are the ones who show up daily, follow up on leads, keep learning, and don’t quit after a slow week.
• There’s no guaranteed income. I can’t promise you a number, and honestly, anyone who does promise you a specific number is not being straight with you. What I can tell you is that the ceiling isn’t fixed the way it was at my old jobs — what you get out is tied to what you put in.
• It’s not for everyone. If you’re looking for something completely passive, or an overnight fix, this isn’t it.

Who This Is Actually For

This is for people who are tired of trading 100% of their time for a fixed paycheck and are willing to put in real work to change that. People who don’t mind studying for a license. People who want to build something instead of just clocking in somewhere. People who, like me, have tried a few things that didn’t fit and are ready to actually look at one that might.

It’s not for people looking for a guaranteed quick win. That’s not honest, and I’m not going to pretend it is just to get you to message me.
