My name is Emmanuel Duku Lodovick, and i am a proud south sudanese student currently pursuing a bachelor of Science in Information Technology at Uganda Christian University in Mukono. The Journey wasn’t just a hop across a border; it was a deliberate step toward a future i’m building with code and creativity.

South Sudan gave me my foundation, and UCU is giving me the wings. I came to Mukono not just to earn a degree, but to understand how technology can bridge gaps, empower communities, and tell stories — maybe even mine. IT, for me, isn’t just about algorithms; it’s about access, innovation, and shaping the world tomorrow.

While my mind is often lost in databases and programming languages, my heart is always looking for the next adventure.

The Traveler’s Soul: There’s nothing like packing a bag and hitting the road. Whether it’s exploring the bustling streets of Kampala or finding a quiet corner of Uganda, traveling is my reset button. It’s where I gather new perspectives and energy. Every new place is a chapter, and I’m determined to read the whole book.

The Water and the Screen: When I need to fully disconnect, I dive in. Swimming isn’t just exercise; it’s meditation. It’s the one place where I’m completely focused on the rhythm of my breath and the water. After a good swim, I usually settle in for some well-deserved screen time. Whether it’s dissecting the plot twists of a new series, getting lost in a captivating movie, or passionately cheering for my favorite football team (Manchester United), these are the simple pleasures that keep my life balanced.

Being a South Sudanese IT student in Uganda places me at a unique intersection. I believe the technology I learn at UCU has the potential to make a real impact back home and across the region.
