Understanding Moments (Should We?)
Moments by meaning are to be lived momentarily.
This is the thought of a seer.
Not everyone is as progressed and elevated in thought to live them thus.
For us, we describe moments as good or bad.
Moments, when described by a philosopher, would mean the flavours of a life.
The philosopher continues to say that if there are only good moments happening, you won’t appreciate them; it’s only when bad moments hit us that we realise and differentiate these good moments.
A life is realised as lived in worthiness when the moments of good and bad, when faced, you keep shuttling them between your shoulders, letting them thus not weigh you down.
If these happy moments are to be lived, they are a blessing or a requisite; then not being intimidated or burdened by the sad times is brave.
Again, hold on to what was said above; moments are momentarily.
Good moments would seem like lightning, that they just flashed away, and the hard moments would seem like an extended rain.
Each life is a collection of moments, some joyful, some painful, but they are all meant to be meaningful.
Moments shape life; they surely do, making us bold and letting us go in search of the unexplained and the farthest.
Moments have claimed lives to say that these good and bad moments form the rhythm of our very existence, and understanding them can make our journey called life more meaningful.
Life, in all its complexity, can feel like a series of contrasting brushstrokes on an ever-painted canvas, bright strokes of joy alongside dark streaks of sorrow.
Why Good and Bad Moments Coexist?
One question to carry to the Creator when entering His World.
Philosophers' journals are filled with writing and scribbling on this subject.
Stoics argue that all joy without hardship would feel routine and boring, and bland in flavor. It's the contrast, the tension between the highs and lows in moments, that gives each its unique place.
In Ecclesiastes 3 1–8 (from the Holy Bible) echoes this,
“There is a time for everything… a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance.”
Life, like Nature, was never accidental; it’s designed like the seasons of Nature, all for the co-existence of Nature and, in our case, our life.
Your experience of the good and bad is shaping your mind, will, nature, and more.
Living Life In Real
Live the life that is real, not that which is gift-wrapped to look like an occasion.
Good Moments
Pause and live these moments, cherish them, photograph them for a smile when feeling low or otherwise.
Let them not be lost in some social platform; let them be etched deeper in your memory.
Practice gratitude, starting with the giver of life and moments (ignore if you're an atheist)
Say thanks to those who brought these moments into your life, if not on their face, at least in your heart.
A heart of gratitude always shines.
Bad Moments
Here also begin with a pause, find your space to grieve or feel frustrated.
Suppress them not, they will make room not only in your mind but also in your heart.
Speak to yourself, reminding yourself of the past challenges that you’ve overcome. You have to act; small constructive digs will make you find the hidden wealth that will be your stepping stone now, for greater things to do and achieve.
Hope against hopelessness.
Lean on those who care for you. Isolation magnifies pain; connecting eases it. You were born alone, but to live was never in isolation.
Let your experience teach you, not just hurt you.
Life Was Meant to Go On…
These good and bad moments are not rivals or in battle with each other.
They were like contrasting twins born with you. They both are of value in your life.
The joy gives rest to your heart, and the sorrow brings depth to your heart.
You can’t control which moment comes next, but you can surely choose your mind and heart to posture towards each.
Nature is a mirror of each life.
There is sunshine and there is rain, and if your life is like a tree,
Let the sunshine, the good moments, warm you, nourish you
Let the rain, the bad moments, be a reminder that without water, the tree with just sunlight alone could never grow and survive.
Love Life…
