That 1% Change

the change you need

Hi everyone,

today i wanna talk about that endless loop we sometimes feel stuck in.

That feeling where you desperately know that something needs to change, but you don’t know where to start.

You don’t have enough energy.

You don’t have enough resources.

Sometimes you don’t even understand what exactly needs to change.

You just know…

Something is not working anymore.

I was in that phase sometime back.

I used to feel like I was just watching my own life as an audience instead of being the main character of it.

I was watching myself make plans.

Watching myself postpone things.

Watching myself say “I’ll start tomorrow.”

Watching myself make excuses and then believe those excuses.

And honestly, the hardest part was not changing my routine.

The hardest part was stopping myself from negotiating with myself.

Because we are very good at giving ourselves excuses.

“Today was a tiring day.”

“I’ll start from tomorrow.”

“I don’t have enough time.”

“One day won’t make a difference.”

“I’ll do it once things get better.”

And sometimes those excuses are actually valid.

But when they become a pattern…

They become the reason why nothing changes.

So I decided I didn’t need a massive transformation.

I needed to start with 1%.

Not changing everything.

Just changing something.

And I started making a few rules for myself.

1. No excuses.

I started making a list of things that I simply could not afford to compromise on.

For example, I started working on my weight gain journey and created three basic rules for myself:

  • No skipping meals.
  • High-protein breakfast.
  • Take my supplements on time.

Nothing revolutionary.

But the important part was…

I had to follow them even on the days when I didn’t feel like it.

I put alarms on my phone.

One for my syrup.

One for my protein.

One for other things I needed to remember.

And honestly, when you become serious about something, you start finding ways to make it happen.

You don’t suddenly get more time.

You just start making the thing important enough.

2. Hold patience.

This one is difficult.

We want results immediately.

We work for a few days and then start checking,

“Why isn’t anything changing?”

But most meaningful changes don’t happen that quickly.

You work.

You wait.

You work again.

You question yourself.

You continue.

And sometimes the results are happening quietly before you can actually see them.

That’s why patience becomes part of the process.

The absence of immediate results doesn’t always mean the absence of progress.

Sometimes you just need to stay long enough to see it.

3. Give yourself positive energy.

I genuinely believe that the way we talk to ourselves matters.

If every day you tell yourself,

“I don’t think I’ll be able to do this.”

your brain starts believing it.

But if you keep telling yourself,

“I’m figuring it out.”

“I’m on the right path.”

“I’ll get there.”

it gives you another reason to show up tomorrow.

I’m not saying positive thinking alone will achieve your goals.

It won’t.

You still have to work.

But confidence gives you the energy to continue the work.

Sometimes the biggest support you need is the voice inside your own head saying,

“Keep going. We are not done yet.”

4. Don’t keep looking outside.

Once you know what you’re working towards, stop constantly checking what everyone else is doing.

Someone might be ahead of you.

Someone might be achieving faster.

Someone might look like they have everything figured out.

So what?

Their timeline is not yours.

People will have opinions.

Some will understand you.

Some won’t.

Some will appreciate your journey.

Some will ask why you’re doing it.

It doesn’t matter as much as you think.

What really matters is…

How do you see yourself while you’re becoming the person you want to be?

You don’t need everyone’s approval to improve your own life.

5. Don’t lose hope because you failed before.

This one is very close to me.

Sometimes we tried something earlier.

It didn’t work.

We stopped.

And when we want to try again, our mind says,

“But I already tried this once.”

Yes.

You did.

But you’re not the same person anymore.

You know more now.

You know what didn’t work.

You know where you gave up.

You know what you were missing.

So don’t look at your previous attempt as proof that you can’t do it.

Look at it as information.

Maybe the first attempt wasn’t a failure.

Maybe it was research.

And this time…

You know what needs to be changed.

The most important thing I realised during this process is that change doesn’t always look exciting.

Sometimes change is just waking up and doing the thing you promised yourself you would do.

Sometimes it is eating the meal even when you don’t feel like it.

Sometimes it is studying for thirty minutes instead of scrolling.

Sometimes it is going to the gym when you almost decided not to.

Sometimes it is saying no to something that takes you away from your goal.

Sometimes it is simply keeping one promise you made to yourself.

And slowly…

Those small promises start building something bigger.

Trust in yourself.

That’s probably the biggest thing I’m trying to build right now.

Not a perfect routine.

Not a perfect life.

Just the confidence that when I tell myself I’ll do something…

I will show up.

I’m still in the process.

I’m still figuring things out.

There are still days when I don’t follow everything perfectly.

But the difference now is that I don’t use one bad day as an excuse to abandon the entire journey.

I just start again.

With another 1%.

And maybe that’s all we need sometimes.

Not a completely new life.

Just a slightly better version of the life we already have.

So these are the things I’m trying to follow right now.

No excuses. Hold patience. Give yourself positive energy. Don’t constantly look outside. And never lose hope because you couldn’t do it before.

I’m not saying these are the perfect rules.

They are simply the rules that are helping me right now.

So tell me…

What’s that 1% change you’re working on these days?

Maybe your answer can help someone else who’s also trying to start.

You don’t have to change your entire life today. Just make one promise to yourself and keep it. Then do it again tomorrow. Sometimes 1% is enough to finally feel like you’re moving again.
