White Holes

In the vast expanse of the unknown, there is a very intriguing theory that proposes the idea of OUR known universe not being born from the ‘BIG BANG’ i.e., singularity but rather it was born from the DEATH of another universe somewhere else. The theory which supports this idea is the theory of the mysterious as well as complicated entities in space called “White Holes”.

Firstly, to understand this mind-bending concept, we must understand blackholes. These are regions in space where the singularity has infinite density and thus infinite gravity. All the known laws of physics break here as we know anything and everything that enters a blackhole can never come back; not even light. This is because to escape the gravitational pull of the blackhole, the given object must travel more than the speed of light, which again we know it is impossible.

To further understand white holes, we must learn a bit of quantum physics. The underlaying concept of quantum physics is that everything in nature is made of information or data in one or the other form. The underlaying assumption is that whenever any object dies or gets erased from existence, its data or information gets ‘deleted’ along with it. Technically, this means anything that gets destroyed by a black hole, its data should get vanished. But, our laws of physics that govern our reality says that after an object enters a blackhole and crosses its event horizon it vanishes from existence, but the problem here is, we don’t know what is there beyond the singularity. Looking at this problem famous mathematicians and astrophysicists from around the world gathered to propose a new idea called “White holes”.

White holes are theoretical objects present in the universe which are the complete opposite of blackhole. Instead of consuming matter like a blackhole, white holes expel matter into the universe. To support this idea, Einstein’s field equation says that, there MIGHT be a ‘wormhole’ present inside a blackhole which intern connects to a white hole on the other side of spacetime and perhaps other universes too. White holes are made up of interwoven fabric of spacetime and are one of the most delicate things in the known reality. When white holes expel matter, they become one of the most luminous objects ever, but we have never found them YET. The photon paradox explains that anything which tries to enter a white hole, in this case suppose a photon, that one photon will get immensely energized, so if a photon was traveling in a red wavelength, it will change the entire wavelength to the blue wavelength. Due to this theory, we can say that NOTHING not even light can enter a white hole.

One more bizarre theory is that, our known reality i.e., universe which was said to have been formed from a big bag may not be so. There is one particular theory which was later mapped by many mathematicians say that white holes aren’t only the portal through space and time via the wormhole but rather the f inal remains of blackholes. Even blackholes won’t be alive forever, even they are succumbed to death. After hundreds of trillions of years, they slowly evaporate due to a phenomena called “Hawking Radiation” and after they die, a new white hole emergers in another universe as quantum physics says that information will disappear only when the source does. So, this means in the lifetime of a blackhole all the matter it has consumed over the years will be equally expelled out in another universe in the form of a singularity via a white hole.

And guess what, our known universe was born from a very small singularity which exploded creating the fundamental particles necessary for the universe to exist. Technically, this can also mean that the formation of the singularity which was the lead cause of the formation of this universe was a white hole expelling matter out from a dead blackhole from another universe, suggesting the fact that we MIGHT have experienced the death of another universe which cause the birth of our own. This theory is also convincing as it not only makes the quantum theory through spacetime stronger, but also strongly supports the idea of a “Multiverse”.

Nonetheless, spacetime is one of the most complex things to comprehend and even our best and strongest laws of physics fail at a certain point.
