To everyone reading and writing with us, welcome to another week of creation!

​As you might have noticed, we are doing a bit of rearranging around the place. Consider this month our mad scientist phase — we’re experimenting heavily with these new stitches and submission styles to see what feels right. We are still figuring it all out, so please share your views in the comments! We promise to have everything neatly sorted soon.

In the meantime, let’s keep the magic moving. As a quick reminder, WIT now accepts 2 types of submissions:

• Individual Stories (Stitches): Standalone pieces based on any of our prompts. Use the subtitle: Week # 2, Prompt # ___, and use ‘Stitches’ as a compulsory tag.
• Interconnected Series (Threads): Stories that expand an existing world into a series. Use the subtitle: Weave # , Thread # , and use ‘Weave it Together’ as a compulsory tag.

“Would you like to see this live?” was the simple question that followed the video posted on Facebook, by I know not who… probably an acquaintance of a friend of mine.

The simulated torture and killing had seemed so chillingly real.

I was still trying to recover from what I had just seen.

“If so ‘like’ this page and type ‘yes’ in comments.”

"Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy. So here’s my laundry, so wash it, maybe?" I was singing my heart out in the empty laundromat. But when I turned around, it seemed that I hadn’t been alone this whole time. My heart skipped a beat

“Every year, the dragons of Sadabahar collect a tithe of 500 chickens from each human town. This year, a little boy stole one from the tithe-cart. Now the dragons want the boy himself as payment. No human has entered Sadabahar in a hundred years...”

Halfway through, Maya realized she was at the wrong wedding. It explained why the groom looked completely blank when she hugged him, and why the bride’s mother had spent the last hour glaring at her from across the reception hall. The real problem was that she had already eaten the lobster.

Streetlights stayed on. Televisions flickered. Life went on as usual.

Soon, people started finding odd silver feathers on their doorsteps.

By morning, every clock in town stopped at exactly 11:11.

The second feather landed right on my shoulder.
