Luke’s special Tribe Fest with the Cleveland Indians

This season’s Tribe Fest was by far the largest offseason gathering of Indians fans in recent memory. The annual event allows fans to get up close to their favorite ballplayers through player Q&A’s, autograph signings, and onstage games. However, for one young Tribe fan, he got to do more than just see the players from afar.

Luke, an avid Indians fan, and his family were provided with tickets to Saturday’s event by the Casey Cares Foundation. The foundation’s mission is to “lift the spirits of everyone affected by childhood illness.” The six-year-old Luke is battling brain cancer and wanted to make a stop to the Cleveland Convention Center to see his favorite baseball team up close.
When Tribe pitcher Josh Tomlin heard about Luke’s story, he decided he wanted to surprise Luke and his family.
The family was already thrilled just to be at the event and were blown away by the pitcher’s action. Luke and Josh spent a good half hour hanging out, having fun and playing video games.
