The Girl Who Never Gave Up on Her Leadership Dream

Since my childhood i have always been interested in being a leader or working for events in school . In addition to that i’m also into arts and creativity i was waiting for oppurtunities so that i can do what i love .In my 9th grade we have student leader elections and ofcourse i participated as house president with all the excitement, guess what? i didn’t win !! I struggled alot and campaigned to win but nothing worked. I was sad for so many weeks but yeah its one of my life’s tragedies. That’s how i never get to do what i like , fast forward to my Btech we didn’t have any clubs in our first year but in the second year our seniors made sure we have proper clubs and all so , we got announcement regarding nominees for various clubs. I was super excited and I started filling the form at the end i see “ upload a video link of your achievements , why you are suitable for this club”. The thing is i’m good at art but i don’t have any achievements other than my instagram followers for my art account also my dad’s appreciation . So , I didn’t give my nomination . After the selections of club committee i got to know mostly the authorities selected seniors so even if i had applied they might have rejected me . But in sports club my friend has been selected as secretary even without any formal procedure as he was good at cricket the authorities has appointed him as secretary and guess what he spoke to vice president of arts club about me and that’s how i actually got to know one of the arts club committee member . Whenever i had chance to volunteer for the club i was there helping so that i might get chance next year to be the core member. Year came to end and we had new core members interviews i was so excited and fully prepared to be core member . On the day of interview i got to know 3rd year students are not eligible, this is insane right? i was devasted i literally cried after awhile we got another information that 3rd years are also eligible i was super happy i went to give my interview it went well and remember what i told about my achievements yeah now my instagram followers and collabs are cherry on top in my art profile to be honest . Later i got shortlisted and the next task was to choose positions for that shortlisted students must show how they handle club , every year we have “club mela” basically to introduce each club to freshers every year . The shortlisted students must handle club mela and former president decides positions based on our performance. I literally don’t know single person from the shortlisted students only 2 seniors were selected i’m one among the two,remaining were juniors. I’m introvert pro max and i love being the president who manages everything look at the irony. I stepped out of my comfortzone i literally tried alot to mingle with everyone i gave my best , my senior told he will appoint one of us two as president and gave time to choose who wants to be president . I love being the president that’s my dream why would i lose my chance? neither she did so senior created a whatsapp group and kept a poll asking the shortlisted students to vote for the one they want as the president and you know what? They actually voted for me and i was elected as the PRESIDENT OF ARTS CLUB!!!! it was red letter day, i was super happy yelling , dancing my happiness had no bounds!!But the happiness came with price to pay .
