I am enjoying Swift coding
On my iPad, in Playgrounds
I was prevented from analyzing more of the SpriteKit functions and joining up fragments into pods to zap, so I broke to tell everyone how my maiden iOS game is going. Quite well, and quite fun. I think iPads pale a little as coding stations but it’s the only Apple system I have.
Writing a novel on a laptop isn’t too bad but coding on an 11" screen which is glossy and somehow in dark mode all the time is a little claustrophobic and squinty / frowny. I did pin together 2 cubes and break those apart manually (via touches) but I want to blast 3 cubes with a 4th node / projectile by end of tonight, maybe insert my custom graphics as well. I think I need to implement inertia-mass next.
Realized that if I kept thinking of coding my app as a whole, I’d never get started. So today, just bash fragments together. Tomorrow, we’ll see what.
Just have one complaint about Playgrounds -it throws up lots of errors it can’t always auto-fix. If the game turns out hot, I may rejoin the Developer Program. If not, I will spend the money on growing specialty onions instead -with my friend, brother Joseph.
Broke off abruptly to write a guitar song. Just 3 chords. Sounded quite nice so I recorded it into my phone. Placeholder title: “Hair”. Odd but apparently prophetic. Joins the ranks of other songs about hair: “Sister golden hair”, “brushes her long blond hair”, “she wets her hair”, “kiss her honey hair”.
