Sometimes, a gesture of kindness, some sweet words of appreciation, a help that eases your difficulties, little moments when love and care are shared unexpectedly can make your Day.

It’s said that “You get what you give.”

When you are showering good deeds, helping someone in need, without expecting anything in return, it does get circulated in the universe, and you receive back what you have given.

I want to share something that happened this weekend while we were travelling with our Son. We decided to go to a Lake, as it was very hot and that seemed a good escape. While we were on our way, we needed to change 2 Trains and then a Bus that would finally help us reach our destination. Though the Train rides were actually pretty normal as always, the bus ride turned very adventurous.

The bus got really crowded, so crowded that the Driver kept saying to move away from the Door or the door would not be closed and he would not drive. This went for about 5 minutes. Although the doors were now closed, people began shouting to start the Bus, but he just didn’t want to. We three didn’t find a place to sit as well, so we adjusted ourselves and our Baby in his Pram somewhere in the middle of the Bus.

Frustrated from this, a Lady and her husband started shouting for the Driver to open the Door so that they could get out of the Bus, but it didn’t reach his ears. So the people surrounding her started to yell as well to open the door for her, but it was to no avail, and the door remained closed. It seemed very funny to me how the Driver was driving the people crazy. Her husband went near the driver and said, “Hey, please open the door,” and finally they went out. A few minutes later, the bus finally started. My husband applauded, and everyone seeing him started to clap as well. To which a passenger said, “ A wonder,” and everyone started laughing.

In all of this confusion, with so much crowd in the Bus and the rising temperature, my Son got irritated and started crying.

My husband had a fan in his hand, and he was waving it at him to stop him from crying. To my surprise, a young man standing nearby asked my husband for the fan. When he gave it to him, he started waving the Fan for my son. I was so amazed. Why would he do that? The young man said, “ Little Baby must have been feeling very hot!”

For me, waving a fan is not as easy as it seems; after 5 turns, my hands start aching. But he did that for him for almost 5 minutes.

While he was doing that, a young Boy, who must be around 5 years old, was sitting right in front of us. He kept playing with my Son, trying to distract him. He made faces, shared his toys just to calm my Son. His Grandmother was sitting beside him.

I told my husband to take the fan from the young man, or he will get a pain in his hands. As soon as he gave the fan back, the Grandmother of this young boy took the responsibility of the fan, and now she started waving at my little one, and then a few minutes later, even the young boy wanted to do the same.

Somehow, the journey, which was so stressful, turned out to be a Bliss. Never had I thought that some strangers would show so much care and love to my Son who they hardly knew.

Maybe there are so many beautiful things that happen daily in our lives, but we do not see them or turn our eyes to them.

Kindness is not so hard to show. It just takes a little extra effort.

Opening the Door for the Handicapped

Stopping the Train for that passenger who is running as fast as he can to catch the train.

Giving your seat to an old Lady or a pregnant woman.

Simple, isn’t it? But still we get so absorbed in ourselves, our lives, and problems that we don’t see the running passenger, or the old Lady, or the handicapped. Sometimes we are lost in our phones and sometimes in our thoughts.

Special Thanks to Monika Mahadev and Diya Nagarkoti for the beautiful challenge.
