The Persistence of Memory: Reflections on a Transformation
Day-3 Transformation Series
“Carrying Forward”
Yesterday, I looked through the Instagram profile of someone close to me and found a highlight reel from 2021.
Today, I am feeling a bit emotional. It feels like I am still carrying those old memories with me. As I went through his stories, photos, and the music from that period, it all came rushing back. During 2021 and 2022, I was going through one of the lowest phases of my life.
I spent a long time looking through his profile and stories. As I did, I remembered everything — the situations I was facing, my mindset, and the depth of the emotions I experienced back then. Suddenly, a thought hit me: “I’m still here.”
Back then, it was 2020 and 2021. Now it is 2026, and I am still here.
When I reflected on that, I felt as though not much has changed. Yes, I have held jobs and gained some experience, but I felt that there have been no major changes in my life. That realization affected me deeply; I felt really low and disappointed. Lately, I have found myself dwelling on those difficult days again, and those memories have been weighing heavily on me.
I hope everything will be okay soon. I hope…
