🗣SIGHT!🔥

⚓️ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: John 9:1-11 (AMP) [1] While He was passing by, He noticed a man [who had been] blind from birth.

[2] His disciples asked Him, “Rabbi (Teacher), who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind?”

[3] Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but it was so that the works of God might be displayed and illustrated in him.

[4] We must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; night is coming when no one can work.

[5] As long as I am in the world, I am the Light of the world [giving guidance through My word and works].”

[6] When He had said this, He spat on the ground and made mud with His saliva, and He spread the mud [like an ointment] on the man’s eyes.

[7] And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went away and washed, and came back seeing.

[8] So the neighbors, and those who used to know him as a beggar, said, “Is not this the man who used to sit and beg?”

[9] Some said, “It is he.” Still others said, “No, but he looks like him.” But he kept saying, “I am the man.”

[10] So they said to him, “How were your eyes opened?”

[11] He replied, “The Man called Jesus made mud and smeared it on my eyes and told me, ‘Go to Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and I received my sight!”

🧠MEMORY VERSE: The blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed (by healing) and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up and the poor have good news (the Gospel) preached to them. Matthew 11:5 (AMPC)

🗓BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Samuel 6-9, Psalms 103, Proverbs 13.

💪🏿BIBLE IN 90 DAYS: Leviticus 14:33-57 - Leviticus 26:1-6.

MESSAGE It is not God's Will for anyone to be blind. God created the eyes for us to see, simple. Understand forever that God's Will is simply summarised as "good", he cannot do evil. In Genesis 1, after The Lord Created everything, the Bible records that He Saw that it was good. Included in that list was human beings and all our different parts! Ecclesiastes 3:11 testifies; "He has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time." Proverbs 20:12 clarifies; "The hearing ear and the seeing eye, The [omnipotent] Lord has made both of them." Thankfully, The Lord answers the deepest question about this; anyone born blind was born that way so that God can showcase His Power by healing him!

So many things to unpack from our Bible reference. The Bible records that our Lord Jesus was passing and by Himself noticed the man who was born blind. They didn’t have to call Jesus' attention to him, He saw the man Himself. God is more interested in making the blind see than the blind man is himself! At another time, our Lord Jesus took His time to lay His Hands twice on a blind man for him to see! Our memory verse shows us that in Jesus' healing scale of preference, making the blind see ranks first. How else will you be able to read His Word and see the miracles, signs and wonders He intends to do through you? How else will you appreciate the beauty of God’s Creation? Oh what a privilege to have one’s eyes open! Again, it is not God’s Will for anyone to remain blind! You may have been born blind but it is never God’s Will that you remain blind. Jesus never refused any blind man who asked Him to heal him! He went all the way, in different ways, to heal them all!

Interestingly, both spiritual and physical blindness are eyesores to Jesus. Yet there is still mental blindness. The Bible records Apostle Paul's prayer for the Ephesian Church in Ephesians 1:18-23; "And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints (God’s people), and [so that you will begin to know] what the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His [active, spiritual] power is in us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of His mighty strength which He produced in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion [whether angelic or human], and [far above] every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and world but also in the one to come. And He put all things [in every realm] in subjection under Christ’s feet, and appointed Him as [supreme and authoritative] head over all things in the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills and completes all things in all [believers]."

🎺CALL: The cure for blindness is Light. Is there any difference between a blind man and a man trying to walk in pitch darkness? So also there is no difference between a physically blind man and a spiritually blind man! Spiritually blind men are those who are not yet born again. "Yet" because it is God's Will that all men are born again, saved, and come to the Knowledge of the Truth. This simply translates to mean that it is God's Will for the spiritually blind to see! So intentional is God about this that He appointed twelve disciples and later on empowered some 120 of them to continue in the same!

Take special notice of John 9:4-5; "We must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; night is coming when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the Light of the world [giving guidance through My word and works]." Your next question should be; Jesus is no longer in the world, so what happens next? Wonderful! This is why Jesus died on the Cross, despite living a sinless life and shed His Blood for you and I. The Bible teaches us that the life of the flesh is in the blood. Jesus gave us His Blood; His Life. Then, He went further to give us His Spirit; The Holy Spirit, so that we can continue from where He stopped and then, do greater works than He did (John 14:12). Now, He Himself, while He was on earth, Said; "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden" (Matthew 5:14). There is nothing our Lord Jesus did on earth that we are incapable of doing, by His Spirit! Both healing of the physically and spiritually blind has now become our responsibility! As long as we are in this world, we also are the Light of the world! Therefore, I decree, every type of blindness plaguing anyone whether physical or spiritual, partial or full or any other variety, by The Light of God, receive your total healing now in The Mighty Name of Jesus! Begin to see clearly! Your spiritual eyes are flung open now, in The Mighty Name of Jesus! Congratulations! Go, and sin no more! The taste of sin in your body dies a supernatural death right now, in The Mighty Name of Jesus! Go now, and begin to function as Light; proclaiming what The Lord has done for you everywhere!

🫵🏿BRIDGE: There are blessings and there are Blessings. Except men see signs and wonders, they will not believe. The kind of Blessings that make a man unrecognisable is the type of blessings The Lord is set to release your way, today. Again, John 9:3; "Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but it was so that the works of God might be displayed and illustrated in him." Every Great Teacher ensures to give one or two examples before giving you tests and the final exams. Before you point fingers to accuse God, He is simply The Greatest Teacher. How else will you believe except you see the wonderful sign of a blind man receiving His sight? Can you imagine what Joy and rejoicing will fill his heart? Surely you're not surprised when the Bible reveals that there is joy in Heaven over one sinner that repents; that's a blind guy just got his sight restored! How dangerous is it to be blind? Take a look at Jesus' conversation with the learned men of His Day and see for yourself; "Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” Then Jesus said to them again, “I am going away, and you will seek Me, and will die in your sin. Where I go you cannot come.” So the Jews said, “Will He kill Himself, because He says, ‘Where I go you cannot come’?” And He said to them, “You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” Then they said to Him, “Who are You?” And Jesus said to them, “Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning. I have many things to say and to judge concerning you, but He who sent Me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I heard from Him.” They did not understand that He spoke to them of the Father. Then Jesus said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things. And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.” As He spoke these words, many believed in Him. Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?” Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. “I know that you are Abraham’s descendants, but you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you. I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father.” They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham. But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this. You do the deeds of your father.” Then they said to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father—God.” Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.” Then the Jews answered and said to Him, “Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?” Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon; but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me. And I do not seek My own glory; there is One who seeks and judges. Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death.” Then the Jews said to Him, “Now we know that You have a demon! Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and You say, ‘If anyone keeps My word he shall never taste death.’ Are You greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? And the prophets are dead. Who do You make Yourself out to be?” Jesus answered, “If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. It is My Father who honors Me, of whom you say that He is your God. Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say, ‘I do not know Him,’ I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him and keep His word. Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by" (John 8:12, 21-59).
