Still Standing: Putin Continues to Monotone That Hits Will ‘Intensify,’ But Ukraine Hits Where it Counts

Despite all that ill winds have to throw at Ukraine, Kyiv will not bow, and causes damage to Russia

At least 9 Russian tankers have been in or near UK waters in recent days. 9. Not 1. Yes, great stuff Royal Marines, SBS and National Crime Agency officers for boarding the 1. As far as boarding ships, the SAS are eminently capable, so are a continued use of the Royal Marines. There are 5,800of them, not including the reserves: use them, Starmer. The experience is vital. PS regarding the SBS there are a couple hundred. Many come from the Royal Marines. I used to work as a bouncer with a colleague (his company) who had been a sniper in the SBS; a cockney. Glad I never had to fight against him.

Mentioning the SAS, I’ll just add here that a couple of dozen were in the Donbass area in April 2021, roughly a year before the war, and joined by a few characters from the secretive 18 Signals, a regiment providing secure comms, electronic warfare + cyber support. They watched Russian activity until early 2022, before being ordered to pull out just before the invasion. Their presence, and that of a British surveillance aircraft monitoring Russian radio chatter led to Britain dispatching early armaments for an invasion they knew would come.

We know that various groups of special forces have spent time in Ukraine over these war years. The U.S. has had a handful (or more, my knowledge is absolutely not complete) on the ground, as have the French, and Latvians, and surely others. But Britain also sent further Royal Marines commandos, first to ensure a timely evacuation of British diplomatic staff, but later as support for probable SAS and SBS teams located in Mikolaïv, who very probably had a hand in the initial launching of Ukrainian sea drones and attacks on small boats on various parts of Crimea.

Ukrainian military upgrades

Ukraine will now pay infantry soldiers US$7,000 to US$10,000 per month, for a 10 month contract, of which 4 of those months will be in combat. They then can take a year to year and a half off, and can be called up again. In addition, those who are AWOL may choose unit & commander if they return, without any penalty.

Stunning salary, considering food etc will be free also. Hopefully this will bring further foreign fighters in from Latin America.

Starmer targeted

Two men were found guilty of planning a series of firebomb attacks against properties linked to British PM Keir Starmer, Clash Report states.

27-year-old Romanian citizen Stanislav Carpiuc and 22-year-old Ukrainian national Roman Lavrynovych were found guilty of conspiracy to commit arson.

Lavrynovych was recruited via the Telegram messenger by a Russian-speaking man operating under the pseudonym "El Money." The handler offered financial compensation in exchange for executing firebomb attacks. Lavrynovych was identified as the direct perpetrator of the arsons and was also found guilty of reckless endangerment during the attacks on May 11 and 12.

The arson campaign began with the targeted destruction of a Toyota RAV4 in Kentish Town, north London, which was a vehicle previously owned by the Prime Minister. The violence escalated a few days later when the attackers set fire to two residential buildings in the middle of the night, noting that one of the properties, still owned by Starmer, was occupied by his sister-in-law and her family at the time of the incident.

It is in fact a cyber operation run by the Kremlin called “No Name” that organised the arson attacks. Russia was behind it Starmer, not 2 random m idiots. And we should say it.

Trump the bombaster

Maybe we can do something on Ukraine. I think both Putin and Zelensky are open to it. Now that Iran is finished, we’re going to be focusing on that — Trump on Ukraine.

He could do easily announce that his good friend Alexander Stubb, president of Finland isthe right guy to continue negotiations. And can everyone stop talking about making some kind of “deal.”

Macron tried hard to get Trump to just acknowledge he stands by Ukraine. Any word of support, but he could not get one. Trump would be shot down inflames in a country like Sweden, or Britain for his attitude towards Ukraine. I never want to hear anything about the U.S. and freedom. That mantle has gone.

Poland blackmails, yet again

As Kyiv Independent relates, Poland has not yet transferred additional MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine because negotiations over the transfer of Ukrainian drone technology to Poland remain unresolved. Warsaw is only prepared to transfer the Soviet-era fighter jets once an agreement on technology cooperation is presented to them, meaning they want to “get a deal” for the transfer of drones and drone technology. “Never mind the war,” to quote Basil Fawlty. Of course Ukraine is more than willing to do this, and has repeatedly proposed it. But why not be difficult? Just to show who is boss.

Once more, it seems the only way too many talk to Ukraine is through blackmail, especially from the east Europeans, and as usual the Poles, part of the primadonna area of eastern Europe. I just want to remind the Polish state and any Poles that sneering about Ukrainians is the same attitude many in Russia have.

I have heard one or two from Poland making their remarks, just as I have heard a few Hungarians refer to Ukrainians in poor terms. Too easy. At the same time, I have seen young volunteers from Slovakia and Hungary on the borders welcoming Ukrainians and opening their homes for them. Guess it takes all kinds, and even when it doesn’t, we are gonna get all kind anyway.

Plus, Greece has demanded a ‘major apology’ from Ukraine over a drifting naval drone, believed to be Ukrainian. Oh F off Greece. I mean seriously, while Bulgarian PM Rumen Radev , full of pride and prejudice, announced on TV that his government will halt direct weapons transfers from the Bulgarian army to Ukraine, declaring that the country has already “given enough.” So incredibly pathetic in every way you freeloaders.

Once again, countries with their hands traditionally out to beg and take are the ones who give the least.

Ukraine hits back

Yesterday and during the night of 11 June 2026, units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces struck a number of military, logistical and industrial facilities belonging to the Russian occupying forces.

✓ In the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation, the Afipsky oil refinery was struck.

✓ In the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, a facility for the production and outfitting of unmanned naval vessels in Sevastopol was struck.

✓ Also in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, a storage facility for unmanned aerial vehicles near the village of Hryhorivka was struck.

✓ In addition, enemy command posts in the areas of Davydivka, Novoznam’yanka, Bakhmut, Selidove and Pokrovsk in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions were struck.

✓An enemy UAV command post in the Novandriivka area of Donetsk Oblast was also struck.

✓ In the Dovzhansk area of Luhansk Oblast, a concentration of the occupiers’ unmanned aerial vehicle units was struck. In addition, a workshop for the production and repair of UAVs was struck in the Avdiivka area of the Donetsk region.

✓A Ukrainian long-range drone struck a russian locomotive in russia’s Bryansk Oblast

✓ It is also reported that regular passenger train service in Crimea has been suspended. Overnight, a UAV attack damaged the locomotive of Train No. 968 on the Moscow–Simferopol route. Passengers were not harmed. The assistant locomotive driver was killed, while the locomotive driver was injured.

✓ The Krasny Yar oil pumping station in Volgograd Oblast was hit, 510 km from the Ukrainian border. The facility provides intermediate oil transit with a capacity of up to 62.6 million tonnes per year.

✓ The Grushovaya oil transshipment terminal in Novorossiysk, 350 km from the frontline. The facility’s total storage capacity exceeds 1.2 million m³, with individual reinforced concrete and steel tanks ranging from 5,000 to 50,000 m³.

✓ The chemical plant 'Tolyattikauchuk' in the Samara region, 890 km from the Ukrainian border was hit. ‘Tolyattikauchuk' is one of the region’s largest enterprises and a strategic facility supplying about a quarter of Russia’s synthetic rubber market

✓ Two oil refineries — 'TANECO' and 'TAIF-NK' were hit in Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan, 1,130 km from the Ukrainian border.

✓ Ukrainian attacks damaged several bridges connecting the occupied Kherson region with Crimea,days after Russian officials ordered restrictions on commercial and passenger traffic along major roadways leading to the annexed peninsula. The Ukrainian drones struck bridges spanning the North Crimean Canal near Preobrazhenka and Myrno, a road bridge along the Perekop–Armiansk route and a bridge near the village of Stavky.

Madyar explains

“Hitting military trucks on an open road is as easy as hunting partridges in an open field. Within a month, we will take full control of the R-280 Novorossiya highway. In the near future, we will isolate Crimea,” Commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces Robert “Magyar” Brovdi said.

“We will create conditions under which it will be extremely difficult for military personnel and defense industry workers to remain in Crimea, in the temporarily occupied territories, or to use the routes leading to them.

We are opening the door to vast areas where Russians must feel the same pain of war that is felt in almost every Ukrainian city.”

Robert Brovdi…callsign Madyar, stressed to Reuters that Ukraine has not targeted and will not target civilians or civilian objects. According to him, the targets are Russian military facilities, energy infrastructure, and weapons production sites.

He said Ukraine aims to inflict losses severe enough to undermine Moscow’s ability and willingness to continue the war.

According to Brovdi, in the first five months of 2026, the Unmanned Systems Forces eliminated more than 50,900 Russian troops and struck more than 176,500 enemy targets.

The average daily rate was 337 Russian troops and 1,169 enemy targets. He estimated the average cost of eliminating one Russian soldier at about $918.

Brovdi added that the goal is to increase drone units to 5% of the total strength of Ukraine’s Armed Forces. These units currently account for about 2.5% of the military and have been responsible for roughly one-third of Russian losses over the past 12 months.

Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces have eliminated 12,500 more russian troops than Russia has recruited into its army over the same period.

Ukrainian Defense Forces maintain a 1.5-to-1 advantage over the enemy in the use of FPV drones, and this advantage has continued to grow in recent months.

In May, Ukraine’s unmanned systems units struck nearly 180,000 verified enemy targets, an increase of 12.7% compared to April.

Ukrainian forces also destroyed about 4,000 Shahed drones — 27% more than the previous month; and eliminated 10,000 enemy UAV operator positions.

At the same time, Russia’s elite Rubicon UAV unit is actively working to counter Ukraine’s current advantage in medium-range strike drones, although since the beginning of the year, only 14,500 people have signed contracts to serve in such units, representing about 21% of the annual recruitment target. An attempt to attract large numbers of university students to these roles also failed to meet expectations.

Private military companies

The Kyiv Independent is currently investigating the dozens of private firms training drone operators, clearing minefields, maintaining military hardware, and teaching foreigners how to fight a modern war.

Yet, in the eyes of Ukrainian law, they do not exist — Ukrainian legislation prohibits armed formations. Hope to be finding out more about this soon.

Strange news from Belarus

Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko has publicly apologized to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for previous sharp remarks directed at him, and stated Belarus would never invade Ukraine.

Lukachenko is more scared of Ukraine than Putin’s wrath about Belarus not joining the invasion of Ukraine.

Pretty unexpected: but seeing that Lukachenko mentioned some of the targets he was previously told Ukraine would hit if he caused trouble, it looks like he may have listened…
