Cross play test announced in FIFA 22

So far, players of the PlayStation family can only interact with other players on PlayStation consoles in FIFA-the same applies to Xbox and PC users. With the early test, owners of a PlayStation 5, an Xbox Series X | S and Stadia users will be able to exceed the known platform limits.

However, the trial phase is only played in the modes online season and online friendship games, for example in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team (FUT) the restrictions are retained. As the reason for this measure, EA Sports leads to “the chance of bringing new problems into the game”.

In the future, the cross play function should not be limited to the two test modes. “We are confident that the game data and the feedback we receive from these modes will show us how cross play can be implemented in future titles of far -reaching,” writes the developer.

EA Sports would like to inform about the in-house Twitter channel “FIFA Direct Communication” as well as in the game itself as soon as the cross play test is available-there is no detailed schedule. Cross play will then be activated via a new widget in the main menu on the right side.
