I love new beginnings

I don’t think people talk enough about how exhausting it is to want something for so long.
This degree was never just a piece of paper. It was pressure. It was expectation. It was waking up tired and going to sleep feeling like I still hadn’t done enough. It was pretending to be fine when I was quietly overwhelmed. It was watching time pass and wondering if I was falling behind everyone else.
There were days I felt stuck in a loop — revise, submit, wait, doubt, repeat. Days when I questioned whether I was built for this at all. I carried frustration like a second skin. At some point, I stopped celebrating small wins because they felt temporary, fragile.
And yet, somehow, I kept going.
Not in a cinematic, triumphant way. Just… stubbornly. Quietly. One deadline at a time. One breakdown at a time. One small decision to not quit.
Now that it’s over, the relief isn’t loud. It’s subtle. It’s the kind that sits in your chest and slowly loosens something that’s been tight for years. I don’t feel fireworks. I feel space.
Space to breathe. Space to not be defined by struggle. Space to imagine something softer.
This new beginning doesn’t feel dramatic. It feels tender. Like the first green shoot pushing through soil that’s been frozen for too long. I can sense something shifting — not externally, but internally. A quiet realization that maybe I survived more than I give myself credit for.
For a long time, I was just trying to endure. Now, I want to live. Not out of obligation. Not to prove anything. But because I’m starting to find new reasons — small, personal reasons — to care about my own future.
I don’t know what opportunities are coming. I don’t even know who I fully am without the constant weight of this pursuit. But I know this: I made it through something that once felt impossible.
And that has to mean something.
Maybe this is what a new beginning really is — not a grand transformation, but the quiet decision to believe that your life can expand beyond your hardest years.
I love new beginnings.
