Atlas Launches Testnet on Cardano

5/21/2026

Cardano DeFi is entering its next wave as more Cardano DeFi 2.0 projects begin to come online and expand what users can do across the ecosystem. Stablecoins are an important part of that growth, not only as trading assets, but as liquidity that can support more active participation across lending, trading, perpetuals, and other decentralized finance products. Perpetuals are especially important because they bring a more advanced trading structure to Cardano, giving users access to leveraged long and short positions while creating new opportunities for stablecoin liquidity providers. This article will delve into the Atlas testnet launch, the features available to testers, and more.

Testnet Launch Announced

On May 19th, 2026, Atlas announced via its official X page that the Atlas Stablecoin Perpetuals DEX is now live on Cardano Testnet. The launch follows Atlas’ token sale earlier this year and moves the project into a public testing phase ahead of its planned mainnet release. Users can now trade BTC, ADA, and more with leverage through Atlas’ perpetuals DEX while helping stress test the platform and provide feedback before mainnet. The testnet also includes leaderboard rewards, content rewards, vault deposits and withdrawals, along with ATLAS staking and burning mechanics that allow users to experience the perpetuals DEX before the full launch.

What’s Available In Testnet

We’ll now delve into the various features available in the ATLAS testnet. This test environment uses the Cardano Pre-Prod network, so you’ll want to use a Cardano wallet such as VESPR or GERO and set your wallet network to Pre-Prod. The link to Atlas Testnet can be found here.

Perpetuals

On the Perpetuals page, testers can open short or long perpetual positions on ADA, BTC, ETH, XRP, and SNEK in either market or limit order formats. Here, we opened a 3x long on SNEK and a 5x long on ADA in the testing environment.

Vaults

On the Vaults page, users can deposit USDCx, USDM, and USDA into the Atlas protocol to provide liquidity for the perpetuals platform and earn a share of fees. After depositing stablecoins, testers receive LP tokens that represent their share of the liquidity pool.

Staking

On the Staking page, ATLAS holders can stake their tokens to earn a share of protocol fees.

Leaderboard

On the leaderboard users can see the top traders on the Atlas testnet. Here you can search by address or sort the leaderboard by performance metrics such as PnL, trading volume, and more.

More About Atlas

Atlas is a next-generation stablecoin-based Perpetuals Decentralized Exchange (DEX) on the Cardano blockchain. The protocol is designed to let users trade long and short positions with leverage using stablecoin liquidity vaults. Through this structure, Atlas aims to bring perpetuals trading to Cardano while giving stablecoin liquidity providers a direct role in supporting Cardano DeFi.

ATLAS is currently trading for $0.128 per token and has a Market Cap of $264.00K and a Fully Diluted Valuation (FDV)of $3.85M, ranking it at #45 in the Top 100 tokens on Cardano. The price of ATLAS has increased 164.18 % in the last 30 days.

Closing Thoughts

Atlas’ public testnet is a meaningful step for a stablecoin-focused perpetuals DEX that can give Cardano’s stablecoin ecosystem more direct utility. By building around stablecoin liquidity vaults, Atlas gives stablecoin holders a clearer role in supporting trading activity while helping deepen the use case for stablecoins on Cardano. With the path to mainnet now in sight, the testnet phase will be important as the Atlas team gathers user feedback, monitors activity, and prepares the protocol for its full launch. It will be interesting to see how Atlas and other DeFi projects launching in the near future impact Cardano’s decentralized finance ecosystem.
