Who or what pulls those strings; Destiny`s Hands?

If you are a busy person… and who isn`t?… you too will know about your endless line up of tasks needing your attention. Like ASAP!

They are in an invisible queue that is always in front of you. Even while you are asleep. If you are a good manager of it, you prioritize them, dealing with the most important one first.

The least important or least urgent gets pushed to the back and usually gets ignored completely. However, bit by bit those ignored tasks eventually end up at the front and you have to sort them too. Or else!

So we work on our to do list religiously each and every day.

I wonder, aren`t we a bit like puppets in the theatre of Life?

The stings attached to us are many and they know exactly when and where to pull on us.

I wonder if there is a dedicated string for even our thoughts and feelings? Perhaps Destiny`s Hand activates them, from its invisible command centre?

Imagine if by some special glasses, we could see Destiny`s Hands that pull those strings! Would we be amazed or scared , seeing behind the curtain?

Would we be wondering if we have any saying in the things we do, say or feel at all? Would we be confronted with the realization, that even when we feel happy, it is just the happy string being pulled by Destiny`s Hand?

Are we tied to some kind of pre-conditioning that makes us do the things we do, say or feel and these things are not spontaneous after all? Are we more robotic or tied in knots much more than we would like to think?

I love to wash up in the kitchen. I like to create order out of disorder. When I start washing up, I always look for the chopping board first as it is the largest object to be cleaned. With that out of the way, I go for the wine glasses, followed by the cutlery. After these I go for the main course plates, smaller plates, and all the pots and pans. Everything goes to more or less the same place where they went the previous time I have washed up. They all know their places on the drip rack.

When I am done, and the kitchen is clean and tidy, I look around and I am pleased with it all. If I had filmed it, I am sure it would be pretty identical to the previous washing ups.

As if an invisible hand with strings attached had moved me exactly the same way again and again. I suppose there is safety in repetition…resulting in creating order out of chaos.

What worked yesterday, we repeat today.

We humans but I am sure even animals must have been doing just that since the beginning of time.

If we hadnt we simply wouldnt be here! We would have gone extinct a long time ago.

Just observe yourself going through your day. How similar is it to your pattern of yesterday?

You wake up, go to the bathroom, have breakfast, catch your train or queue up for your bus. After work, the same in reverse order.

Get home, kick off your shoes… and do more or less exactly the same things in the same order as you did the day before until you get to bed.

As for work, if you are lucky enough to have a job with varied tasks, you are the very lucky few. At least at work you don`t have to robotically repeat yourself for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week… even if at home you do them by our own volition!

The thought of chores and duties, jobs etc in front of us, awaiting in their endless queues for their turn… can be a rather demoralizing and disheartening. Perhaps it is better not to think about it too much, for we might start to rebel against our Hand of Destiny!

I think that is why a break now and then is so very important.

It is not called a break for no reason.

It breaks that monotony that we allow ourselves to be drawn into by the system around us. A break snaps us out of it, even if just for a short while.

On a break, on a holiday we can be with no strings attached to the usual. Those puppet strings can be hung up for a while to rest.

It must be good for them too, to have a break from their puppets: us!

So what about Destiny`s Hand? Can it have a rest from it all?

What is the destiny of Destiny?

Is it tied to a greater hand such as God`s Hands?

Too many questions and not enough answers!

I am not even attempting to think on a conclusion here!

I think I need a break!
