10 poem I wrote no one knows
THE BRILLIANT KID
In the end, they said I was the problem.
I thought I was helping. I thought I was someone’s reason to smile.
But smiles fade — and sometimes, they don’t come back.
They held me up as an example and used me as a weapon. In my name, they compared — and quietly crushed someone else’s dreams.
And somehow, that weight found its way into my chest.
My heart aches without ever being touched.
There were days I wished I could disappear — not out of hate, but to stop being the reason someone else felt small.
If I could go back in time, I wouldn’t try to be better. I would try to be less — quieter, dimmer, the “dumbest” child they had ever seen…
just so no one had to be broken standing next to me.
