Inspect Rich Documents with Gemini Multimodality and Multimodal RAG
Successfully completed the “Inspect Rich Documents with Gemini Multimodality and Multimodal RAG” lab as part of the #GenAIExchange challenge by Google Cloud!
This lab was truly eye-opening — it showed how powerful multimodal AI can be when dealing with complex documents like product manuals, forms, and reports. Using Gemini’s multimodal capabilities, I learned how to analyze text and images together to extract relevant insights from rich PDFs.
I also got hands-on experience with Multimodal RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) — combining Gemini’s reasoning with real-time data lookup. Instead of just guessing, the model searched for answers across document chunks, retrieved the right info, and then generated a helpful, grounded response.
This was a great introduction to enterprise-level AI that can handle documents with both visuals and structured data — perfect for customer support, compliance, and internal tools.
