silly you, not seeing how much light you carry

silly you, not seeing how much light you carry

you were the moonlight that forgot it was glowing

there’s a kind of person who lights up every room they enter and has absolutely no clue they’re doing it.

you know the type. warm eyes, soft laugh, the one who remembers your coffee order and asks how your mom’s surgery went three weeks later.

and when you tell them they’re basically sunshine in human form, they blink at you like you’ve said something in another language.

that's you, by the way. i'm talking about you.

you carry this light so quietly, like it’s just... part of your furniture. no big deal. you don’t act, you just exist and somehow everyone around you feels a little lighter for it.

it's giving main character energy except you never asked to be the main character, you just became one by being unbearably, effortlessly you.

think about the last drama you watched — the one where the female lead doesn’t realize the male lead has been quietly rearranging his whole world around her?

where she’s like "why is he always there when it rains" and everyone watching is screaming at their screen because it’s SO obvious?

yeah. you’re doing that. except the person rearranging their world around your light is basically everyone who’s ever met you.

the friend who texts you at midnight because your replies feel like a weighted blanket. the stranger on the train who smiled because you smiled first.

the version of you from a year ago who needed exactly the kind of softness you now give so easily to others.

here's the thing about light though — it doesn't need permission to exist. it doesn't need you to clock it, name it, or believe in it.

it just shows up. in your handwriting when you leave notes for people. in the way you check in on someone twice, just to be sure.

in the ridiculously specific playlist you made for a friend going through a rough patch.

so here’s your gentle reminder, wrapped in fairy lights and served with your favourite coffee: you are not silly for missing it.

most soft, warm people do. the ones who carry the most light are usually the last to notice the glow.

but everyone else can see it. clear as golden hour.

so today, just try this — catch yourself being kind and don't shrink it. let yourself take up a little space in your own story.

you've been the soft place for everyone else for way too long without ever being that for yourself.

you're not silly. you never were. you're just light, learning slowly, softly, to see itself.

thanks for reading!
