The gales we have had must have affected a lot of small birds. This Snow Bunting is a rare sight so far south. I could not believe my good fortune. I had to check with a birding friend, who thought it was a Red Moll. This did not sit right with me although I usually concede to him.

Here it again to show how small it is, although it is large for a bunting. They make a warble sound. It also had a bath in the shallow water.

I managed to take this photo of a Kingfisher sitting on a gate to a jetty before getting in the car with my friend. I am always glad to see them as they are so beautiful.
