A prototype is worth 1,000 meetings.

We’ve all sat through meetings where people debate abstractions: slides, reports, “what if”s. In that time, a canny team could have built three wee prototypes and actually seen what works.
In an AI-accelerated world, rapid prototyping becomes the default language of decision-making:
- Instead of arguing for weeks about the navigation structure of a service, you spin up three or four variants with AI-assisted interface tools.
- Instead of a 30-page strategy deck, you produce a simple, interactive journey that shows how a new service would actually behave.
- Instead of endless steering groups, you bring stakeholders into a session where you tweak a live prototype together.
“A prototype is worth 1,000 meetings — especially when you can build it in an afternoon.”
AI makes that feasible:
- Text-to-UI tools can generate screens from written descriptions.
- Design systems mean components are reusable and consistent by default.
- Code-generation tools can scaffold real, interactive prototypes from design assets or even rough sketches.
For my Scottish and UK friends, this plays beautifully into our culture of pragmatism. Less faffing, more “let’s just try it and see”.
