Gruden’s back in the NFL- so, now what about Tebow?

My therapist tells me as long as I continue to have “hope” then everything will be OK. Hope gets you out of bed every day. Hope fuels today, tomorrow and the day after that. Hope is a mind trick intended to ward off negativity and depression. Hope is nothing you can measure or quantify- it’s just there.

For the past couple years I’ve held onto the slim hope Tim Tebow might come back to the NFL one day and, not only play QB again, but play well and win. And now, thanks to Owner Mark Davis, I have a new reason to believe.

The only NFL coach on record to say, “I could come back to the league one day and win some games with Tebow” is the new Oakland Raiders Head Coach. The only question left for Jon Gruden now is he prepared to put his $100 million where his mouth once went. Gruden’s comment about Tebow was less than a year and a half ago- a full year removed from Tebow’s last stint in the NFL, as Chip Kelly’s punching bag in the 2016 pre-season. Chip Kelly gave us hope and then told us we could shove that hope right up his fat little ass.

I have no reason to doubt Gruden’s claim and his genuine affection for Tebow- but will he ask the former Heisman Winner and 2-time College National Champion, with millions of fans, to give up his baseball dreams and join him in Oakland in 2018?

For those who think Tebow is “done” with football, let me remind you people that Tebow is widely acknowledged as one of the most competitive people on the planet- He didn’t walk away from football to pursue baseball; football abandoned Tebow. Tebow is not a quitter. I’ve followed Tim his entire career, every snap, every speech, every crying game- and I’m positive, the desire still burns within him to play football and lead a team at QB.

Back in October I ran into Tebow in Gainesville and asked him would he consider playing for Gruden if he returns to coach? Tebow laughed it off, but did not say, “No.”

Which brings us to the Raiders. I always knew Chucky would return to the NFL one day- coaching is in his blood. His QB camps for ESPN were full of genuine fire and fury- there’s nothing artificial or “political” about Gruden’s passion for the game.

Tebow and Gruden are the perfect match because they’ve both been written off, cast aside and doubted. However, there’s one other thing that makes the most sense for more #TebowTime — is there anyone more capable of matching Gruden’s intensity or more representative of the Raider’s long-time slogan, ‘Just Win Baby?’

For now, Tebow Nation hopes and waits….it’s your move Chucky.
