End-to-end automated formal verification arrives for Cardano smart contracts

Through two new open-source libraries — PlutusCoreBlaster, which models Plutus Core execution, and CardanoLedgerAPIBlaster, which formalizes ledger validation rules — developers can import compiled contracts written in Plinth, Aiken, or Plutarch and automatically verify their behavior or generate concrete counterexamples when properties fail. The system models core execution semantics, cryptographic primitives, transaction validation rules, and ledger constraints with machine-checked rigor, enabling full-chain reasoning from source code to executable proofs. Demonstrated on a real smart contract security challenge, the framework successfully identified exploitable behavior end-to-end. Together with prior Lean-based tooling, this completes a practical verification stack that brings formal methods directly into everyday Cardano development workflows.
